Any news put up on this site is mercilessly assailed by many points of view, and only the facts remain standing. Opinions that are true are proven true, and false opinions are ravaged until rendered unrecognizable. Hard-news items are run through a ringer that network news numbskulls only wish that they could deliver to their audiences, or lie awake in fear that someone else (O'Reilly for example) will do it and take even more of their audience away. As you more eloquently said than I can, the collective wisdom of the Freepers makes an incredibly sensative B***S*** meter. Any story that withstands the onslaught of Freeper opinion and questioning almost always turns out to be accurate no matter how incredible it may seem.
