A few hours ago I was driving down my main street and I saw war protesters lined up in the commons protesting the up coming war with Iraq. I pulled around and parked in the parking garage and walked up to main street to a office supply store and purchased a poster board and marker and made my sign. I sat in the aisle and made the sign.
I walked out to the protesters and unfolded the sign and stood there. You would of thought a army had gone against them. They jerred me with will you look at that Bomb Iraq that is disquesting. One or two of the commies walked over and said they wanted to talk it over. I let them rant on while holding the sign up for all to see.
There were many thumbs up and horn blowing from people driving by. A War Vet and a few others came over to say what I was doing was right and Iraq must be stopped. Of course that began a war of words with everyone trying to shout out their side of the matter. The protesters tried to bring up Scott Ritter and all his BS. It did not work.
Finally most of them gathered their signs and left and it was just me and a few of the people that suported what I was doing and one war protester. Finally he was out numbered and left. He said they were finished with the protest anyway. LoL....
All in all it was a good day to protest the commie rats and their Anti-American spew....
I was there the first time...I'm a little bit older now, but would be damn proud if the Marines would take me back for a second stint over in Iraq..
True. And lots of Americans were against going to war with Hitler, as were all the Europeans in the 30s, when the only one recognizing that evil incarnate was building power was Winston Churchill. All the "intellectuals" laughed at him, said Hitler was harmless and not a threat and thought the Chamberlain path was the one that any civilized, educated person would support.
So let's learn from history. It's not hard.
Hey, that doesn't mean they aren't conservatives!
"I'm tired of a$$holes who think being a conservative means you HAVE to have a certain opinion on a certain issue."- winnepeg's home page
I'm not suprised - most of these anti-war types are anti-cajones types also. They wilt at the first sign of sincere and committed opposition. After all - Peace Now stands for No Confrontation. Bunch of feckless twidlers.
Hats off to you TLB!!
WHY? Why in the hell would you want to spend only God knows how much money, subject our troops to a potential chemical and biological warfare response from Iraq, spike oil prices, worry/involve our European allies, be in Iraq for years if not decades as 'peacekeepers', have God knows how many of our young people in the military die, thin out our resources, stir up more conflicts in the Middle East.....WHY? For what good reason?
winnipeg, you be *sure* to flag me as soon as you learn of just ONE of these antiwar protests that is NOT organized, sponsored, or promoted by communist, anarchist, anti-American organizations. I've been keeping track since 9/11 and haven't heard of an antiwar rally yet that wasn't composed almost entirely of the "usual suspects", or college students recruited by same.
TLB, in which city was this demonstration?
You didn't ask me but I want all our troops home from the 100+ countries they are in now. Haven't they vaccinated all the dogs yet?
After they are back and with more training then I will see if I want to send them to another country to fight
As it stands now, I would not be willing to send any.
Yes.
