Hannity Blasts FreeRepublic (maybe he is right)
Radio | Sean Hannity

Posted on 08/02/2002 2:40:49 PM PDT by jbstrick

Hannity just stated on his radio show that he has just about had enough of the conservative cannibals on this board. To many threads end up being ledd about news and information and more about attacking fellow conservatives.

He said if he wants to get attacked he will go to a Liberal board.

I have a tendency to agree...

Do you really think selling off "unneeded" government land would balance the books on this issue? What land do you have in mind?

The federal government owns trillions of dollars worth of assets it doesn't need and shouldn't have. These include power companies, pipelines, idle military bases, business enterprises, over 400,000 buildings, oil and mineral rights, commodity reserves, and much more — including 29% of all the land in the United States. Estimates of the assets' market value have ranged from $5 trillion to $50 trillion.

Since your last posting on the topic, the chick must have influenced you. That is really quite wonderful, since love supplants place, or should do.

50 trillion? Five times the value of the stock market? Cool. That puts "billions and billions" to shame. It sounds like a plan to me. LOL.

I actually got that off of Harry Browne's website, but with owning even a few % of US soil, and 400,000 buildings alone would add up to trillions of dollars

Note: We wouldn't need anywhere near 50 trillion to pay it off, either. And think about land and property and buildings for a second. How many homes are there now worth over 100,000? Over a million? The answer is too many to count, and we counted up all the value of land and housing in the US I'm sure it would be far higher than 5x the value of the stock market

From that I dissent. I suspect in my hubris that if he were a lawyer against me, I would beat him up pretty bad.

He was not trained as a lawyer, so this follows. However, he would reduce you to tears if you had challenged him on his chosen field of Physics. And if you think otherwise, you have not hubris, but a foolish pride.

100 million homes at 100,000 a pop is 10 trillion (its late, and maybe my zeros are off), and the government doesn't own a one.

Hey I am a veritable FOUNTAIN of "facts". I could go on all night tracing GW Bush's influence going all the way back to his behind the scenes direction of the Russian Revolution.
