Hannity Blasts FreeRepublic (maybe he is right)
Radio | Sean Hannity

Posted on 08/02/2002 2:40:49 PM PDT by jbstrick

Hannity just stated on his radio show that he has just about had enough of the conservative cannibals on this board. To many threads end up being ledd about news and information and more about attacking fellow conservatives.

He said if he wants to get attacked he will go to a Liberal board.

I have a tendency to agree...

Like I said, under martial law the military governs by fiat so it's not a matter of being willing to give up freedom, you do as you're told.

For instance, fter Pearl Harbor Hawaii was placed under martial law and a dusk to dawn curfew for all civilians was imposed.

There is no need for theorists to use a conspiracy when they only need to show the facts.

It is very readable, nothing like the turgid and overlong and padded Atlas Shrugged. It also has a quite humorous sarcastic tone that I love, since it reminds me of well, moi. Trust me.

Was that a permanent policy though? No it wasn't, and my main point about Bush and Ridge encouraging Congress to review the Posse Comitatus Act, is that they seem to believe that arrests, searches, and seizures, should be permanent responsibilities for the military.

Cutting the IRS will be uncutting the tax cheats. Since I don't cheat, that doesn't seem in my best interests. But then I am a selfish bastard

The IRS also costs billions and billions of dollars each year. I do not 'cheat' either, not including the sense that government is just legally stealing money from other people anyway

So all you know is what others have told you? Once again, focus on the actual bill and tell me how your freedom of speech is threatened?

" This thread is a love fest."

Agreed. There is an awesome amount of self love in evidence in a lot of these posts.

Sending the druggies out of prison would save a bunch. The drug war absent prison doesn't cost much. Thus the prison thing seems to be a logical focus.

This is not even close to true. Each marijuana bust alone costs $35k. There are over 700k arrest for marijuana each year. You do the math. This doesn't even consider the 4-6 billion we send overseas each year to fight the war on drugs

Then by all means post some "facts".

35K? Is that a fact? In any event, 4 billion is about 2 hours of federal income. That hardly dents the glacier.

Free speech is about free expression of ones opinions , thoughts and ideas. The freedom to criticize.

If we supress , opine , and ridicule others right and freedom to criticize , then we have no right to criticize about ONE thing , EVER , ABOUT ANYTHING .Do we want totalitarianism within the Republican Party ?

The amount of criticism one Party gets from it's own ought to be a humble measure to those in office about the need to change . If not , then what is the opposite of humility ? ARROGANCE and ELITISM.

I love Hannity , but why being a TV and radio Conservative talk host , is he critcizing others free speech right to criticize when he has more time on his hands to criticize and the free exchange of thought than the average person ?

I have seen and been the victim of this attitude in my own local Orange County California Republican Party Central Committee grassroots establishment , which would also inclue the Anaheim Republican assembly . People are allowed to get away with absolute HELL in this County Republican establishment because of the very same attitude of Shawn Hannity's : other's are ridiculed for standing up to egregiuos wrong and abuses going on within. Is it any wondere the Republican Party is struggling so much ?! We need refornm across the country within the Republican Party , and we need others to run for office to get the job done !! .

The fact is is that President Bush has hurt Republican's chances of keeping the House and getting back the Senate. Folks let's face reality . Hannity criticized Bush about his handling of Isreal ( Bush telling Isreal to restrain itself and back off of it's offensive against terror.)He has criticized Bush on air on his radio program saying Bush has governed as a liberal , and that President Bush is in danger of losing in the 2004' Presidential election ( Hannity went through a long list of items ! Should Hannity be censored and critcized for that ?! ).

The vocal voice of the base of Freerepublic.com and Republican the Conservatives base across the country should be an admonishment and a wake -up call to The President , the Republican Senate and the House that we will not stand for a Republican President acting like a liberal , and giving the Democrats what they want to the degree that President Bush and Trent Lott has .

As a result Of the way President Bush has legislated , it will be a miracle if we keep the house and get back the Senate . This should not be. What FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION FREEREPUBLIC members are saying is this :listen , speak , and and act like a Conservative Republican , or we will work to get others voted in ( even run for office ourselves ! ) who will get the job done. why don't you just list the cuts you favor. Please try to find some that are in double digit billions. Ranting about the Endowment for the Humanities or PBS simply won't cut it.

I know you weren't talking to me, but I'm answering anyway...not to be rude, but because I wanted to share my opinion.

Kill the Department of Education. Completely do away with it. Give back all of the money to the states, meaning reduce the taxpayers' annual burden by the amount of the (now gone) ed dept. Let the states' dept of ed. do their thing. That should save a dollar or two. It's late. Maybe on another day I'll decide on the next department to get rid of.
