Hannity Blasts FreeRepublic (maybe he is right)
Radio | Sean Hannity

Posted on 08/02/2002 2:40:49 PM PDT by jbstrick

Hannity just stated on his radio show that he has just about had enough of the conservative cannibals on this board. To many threads end up being ledd about news and information and more about attacking fellow conservatives.

He said if he wants to get attacked he will go to a Liberal board.

I have a tendency to agree...

To many threads end up being less about news and information and more about attacking fellow conservatives.

The authoritarian, Hannity, has gotten to be a bad joke. Few attacks on conservatives occur on this website. The attacks are on many of the Republicans -- those who are NOT conservatives, but think they are because they support Bush and the Republican Party. Problem is, they are advancing a socialist agenda. That's what people are attacking, Hannity! Get a clue!

The problem here is with the idealogues. They've been here since 1997. Nothing new.

You still don't address your original post.....and my question.

Your Post: Having both the left and right hate you is also very bad for a President and Bush has achieved that

My question: Then how do you explain that his job approval rating is still anywhere from 69 to 73 percent? I think you are mistaken re: the numbers that 'hate' President Bush.

Your response: A: Not everyone votes. B: Its the moderates that love him and thats due to the war the war bonus will fade away eventually moderates have no beliefs and vote based on emotion( liberals have an actual philosphy its not logical but they do believe in something).

Weikel: Nothing was said about your Point A) voting. Your Point B has NOTHING to do with your original post re: people hating Bush. Would it be, perhaps, more accurate to say that a small percentage of the right and the left hate Bush? I am only basing this on his job approval rating, of course.

I want to hear conservatives come out strong against Abortion, the scope and size of the federal government, "Free Trade", Sex Education, our military being used for police exercises, illegal immigration, the current state of immigration, anti-Christian rhetoric, etc. I see mostly a bunch of weaklings afraid to "Shake the Boat" in fear that they won't be reelected and their income cut off.

You're right. What I see is a mainstream media that welcomes Republicans who criticize fellow Republicans...McCain, Richard Shelby, Arlen, etc., and will demonize or muzzle any Republican with a strong pro-America message.

When the President speaks, pundits instantly opine...even on Foxnews Brit or Tony immediately act the critics...derailing both the impact and the message. You know what they do on nightly and daytime network and cable news... run down or misrepresent admin. accomplishments regularly while giving Daschle and co. free airtime to lie...no tough questions asked.

Many good Republicans (like JC Watts) choose to leave the DC sewer for home - to put family and God first right now. Dems. put politics first. The current political arena is no more than an extension of the entertainment business, imho, shallow imagery, fantasy, PR.

Christians won't play Hillary's game (the end justifies the means). Arafat's willing to sign any treaty, knowing that among his people a treaty with Israel is meaningless. Dealing with the Democrats is becoming increasingly similar...they lie, cheat and can't be trusted to behave honorably. Our guys come off as "weak" for not making noisy and slanderous accusations a la Clinton and Daschle, but in the old days, when we actually had some common sense and maturity as a nation...the voters would question the fitness of a candidate who couldn't hold his temper, not reward him. Can we compete with the entertainment industry for America's attention? McCarthy is still right.

I don't blame Republicans with loving families for opting out of the political debate. The current climate is bad for the mind and soul.

I just hope they pray for us.

I never said he was "pimping" his article.

I happened to disagree with his conclusions on the matter at hand. I'm also quick to give him credit where it is due (his work on the school choice issue and against the NEA are both worthy of praise).

I just call things as I see `em.

Omigod...MurryMom....you're still here! You had to be the most-flamed poster of the year 2000 presidential campaign debates on FR. You take a licking and keep on ticking! You have bigger cojones than Sean Hannity!

Hey, not all conservatives are Christians. Not all are opposed to abortion. Not all are opposed to legal immigration. I do think we all ought to coexist under the same tent, don't you? Because that causes alot of arguments on this board.

Why? If you can convince me the base will turn out to vote I am willing to change my opinion, however, what will motivate them? Who will motivate them? Dole,Alexander,Lott, Hatch,Hastert,Hutchinson, etc, etc.

Republican policy on a) immigration, b)Spending, c)Federal expansion, d)education, e)the economy,d)Tort reform, f)Medicare, g)Social Security. Remember Republicans vote for something and Democrats vote against everything.

There is nothing there in November to vote for-- ergo, a severe whupping is in the cards.

Wrong. That approach appeals only to a limited audience within a limited sector. Conservative cry baby politicians are the worst kind. Rather than harping on what they're against, they should expound on what they are for, in positive and easily understandable language that sells itself to open-minded voters across the board. The Conservate message can resonate beyond the GOP. And — nobody wants the boat shaken in shaky times, and we are in rough seas at the moment on many fronts.
