Hannity Blasts FreeRepublic (maybe he is right)
Radio | Sean Hannity

Posted on 08/02/2002 2:40:49 PM PDT by jbstrick

Hannity just stated on his radio show that he has just about had enough of the conservative cannibals on this board. To many threads end up being ledd about news and information and more about attacking fellow conservatives.

He said if he wants to get attacked he will go to a Liberal board.

I have a tendency to agree...

Nevertheless, I hope Jim puts in a call to him to try to smooth things over. FR needs the support of people like Hannity.

I think it's the other way around.

More than likely, Sean's probably having a bad day, or is getting ready to reneage on some Conservative principles. Perhaps it's a celebrity disease.

It's hard to fight city hall, and Hannity's from Long Island, the land of the monopolies of Newsday, News 12, Cablevision, and LIPA, not to mention the local teacher's thug unions controlling the NEA party line. Give him a break.

Perhaps Hannity Freeps under an alias, and he was slammed for questioning the Prez.

I agree he should never have signed the farm bill, it was an economic nightmare. C'mon, though, he was trying to appear "bipartisan" and "compassionate" to work with Democrats, so he could maintain support so he could advance what he thought were larger issues. If he started vetoing you would brand him a heartless partisan radical right-winger.

Please at least attempt to appear to have a rational agenda beyond trashing Republican authority figures.

It's not a matter of celebrity versus peon status; it's about ripping conservatives--especially those who have been friends of FR and stood with us in the breach not too long ago--to shreds.

Or for praising him. That happens too, you know.

Of course, drugs should not be legalized. Sure, legalizing them may take some of the profit motive out of selling them. However, all that would happen is that it that its dispersal would go from the black market/streets to the stores, whereby addiction would skyrocket, teen use would rise, more people would likely die, etc. Just look at the Netherlands and the places where hard drugs have been legalized.

The problem with the War on Drugs, however, is that much of the government has not wanted the problem to subside. THere are many who are making money off the drugs, and so, the drugs are shipped in, the cash flow continues, and nothing is ever solved. The illegal, corrupt system that has been working within the government is the important aspect that many "Drug Legalizers" fail to realize is the primary reason that the War on Drugs has been a dismal failure. It has little to do with "legalizing it".

I will say this, though. I don't think that there will ever be a time where everyone is drug free. It's basically impossible, for as long as there are some drugs in the country, there will be someone taking them. However, use could be vastly curtailed if corruption was weeded out and enforcement was taken seriously.

When has Sean been attacked here?

I didn't see that he said he was. But, at the slights whim, Bush, Ashcroft, etc. have been trashed right and left on this board.

True enough, but Sean has been uncharacteristically critical as of late......especially regarding Middle East policy.

Hmmmm....seems I read that comment about 2,3 times a year for the last four years now....

Only the last four? Remember Deb?

For those bemoaning the lack of civility, remember that it's just a debate between the naive and the informed.

We all pretty much agree that Kennedy and Clinton are pond scum.

FR isn't the army...

Couldn't have said it better myself. FReepers are a fractous bunch, I know many of them and they would argue over a shade of gray. We know where we want to go, it is the getting there that causes the problems.

Sean, Rush and the rest have an opinion but that is all they have. If we win this war the solution will not be that of Sean or Rush but ours.

You're wrong. See, even on this thread F. Lee Levin is being accused of coming over to that other thread just to pimp his article at National Review Online. Once again, you guys are making my case for me.

Go back and read the thread where Levin came in. The nastiness did not start with Levin.

I agree with you. I also have my problems with Sean when he is guilty of virtually the same thing...AND, too often I can see that the goal is merely to improve his ratings.

Perhaps, he's not on radio to push the Republican agenda and simply get listeners, but I guess in my idealistic approach to things, I thought he had it in him to answer to a nobler cause.

I believe that to be of the Republican party is to be a person that believes in personal responsibilities, love of God and life. You are a person of honor, realizing that to do the right thing for the right reasons is paramount, and that may be more difficult--you'll be tested, but to have the moral fiber to handle it. I believe that to help others understand that is more important than ratings. Ratings don't dictate your actions, because if you stand up for the things I mentioned, the ratings will follow.

November is key here people, and we all need to get together on what is right, stand behind the party of those that have these core beliefs, and stop feeding the dems ammunition for their campaigns.

We are in serious trouble here in CA now, with Simon's fraud case. I'm going to the precinct meeting this month, and I'd better hear "when you can't argue the person, argue for the party and what IT stands for" or I'm walking out.

We better start learning how to sell our product, or we should just roll over and pee on ourselves, because that's it. WAKE UP CALL, PEOPLE...WAKE UP AND WIN!

Who attacked him you got a thread? Anybody got a link slamming hannity? i dont think ive seen one

Try reading this again. Sean does not say that he was specifically attacked. He said that he is tired of seeing conservatives attacking each other. I agree. There is hardly a thread on FR where someone is not verbally attacked, ridiculed or slandered in some way, just because of a statement or a particular point of view.

It gets old after awhile. I try to ignore it but obviously it is disturbing to Mr. Hannity and I'm sure he's not the only one that feels this way.

We've been played by the divide and conquer evildoers on the left. Tom Delay (not one to make excuses or "wimp" out on anything) says that the press is freezing out the Republicans....ignoring their more than energetic attempts to get their message out, refute the lies. And we blame the Republicans? What, for having a conscience? For being accountable to a higher power which prevents the compulsive lying and personal destruction we hear daily from the left?

If we are going to win back the Senate and wrest control from Daschle and his deceitful cohorts...we are going to have to address the current problem of the mainstream media (DNC PR machine)...stage nationwide Freeps on mainstreet USA and in front of studios if necessary.

"Consumer confidence" in my neighborhood is down because we don't believe the daily attacks on OUR President and OUR nation during wartime from OUR media. We can't believe they'd stoop this low.

How many Dems. would be voted out of office if the media did their jobs and exposed them? Halliburton, Jenin, Gitmo, day after day...the undermining of this President continues. If anyone here thinks that a candidate running on a far right ticket could win a national election with the bully pulpit (Solzhenitsyn's right...the media/press has more power than any branch of the government), including our "hometown" papers and local TV stations singing the same DNC PR line, you're wrong. The injustice of it and seeming inability to do a damn thing about it (ask Brent Bozell) is making people really angry.

No matter what you think of the Republican party, they would not work to destroy our nation's economy or purposefully weaken our defenses just to win an election. The Democratic party's current campaign of national destruction is far worse than anything Benedict Arnold did...and they and their press buddies deserve our focused attention.

They, of course, will do their best to distract and divide us....by bringing up our key sore points....true or not. They know what they're doing. Don't let them succeed. When they accuse, turn towards the accusers and pull back the curtain....there lies a mischief-maker or his apprentice.

Ok, kristinn ... I am going to go back and read it all the way through ... from the start.

If you feel this strongly about this ... it's surely worth my effort ... maybe I missed something ... wouldn't be the first time ... If I am not back tonight, 'tis only other things called ... but ... I will read it ... for I did not like the thoughts I held the last time ...
