Hannity Blasts FreeRepublic (maybe he is right)
Radio | Sean Hannity

Posted on 08/02/2002 2:40:49 PM PDT by jbstrick

Hannity just stated on his radio show that he has just about had enough of the conservative cannibals on this board. To many threads end up being ledd about news and information and more about attacking fellow conservatives.

He said if he wants to get attacked he will go to a Liberal board.

I have a tendency to agree...

You sure picked a lousy example.Sweet Mark Levin was going at all comers that night, with both barrels, myself being his first target. He liked to dish it out, but didn't like his analysis being hurled back in his face.

Oh, and please spare us more of your pious handwringing.

Well, if that isn't the height of hypocrisy... attacking conservatives for attacking conservatives. At least we keep it mostly in-house.

Hannity is a major light-weight anyway. Fox had to pair him with the Cryptkeeper Cata-Colmes to make him look good.

it's also important to note that during the Clinton administration politics as a whole got a lot more intense, not just for the politicians but for the true believers too. There are a lot of reasons for this (unfortunately not all of them are his fault), but the whole thing really needs to settle down. There was a time when guys on the floor of congress could call each other overy name in the book, then buy each other drinks after the days session ended. There was animosity but there was also respect. There's no respect anymore, not just in the halls of congress but all the way down to street level. The sides hate each other and think the other side is a bunch of idiots (of course we conservatives are right when we say that ;) ). 9-11 seemed to help for a while, for a couple of days we actually managed to remember that we're all Americans, but that's long gone. And it worries me. It worries me that it took the death of 3000 Americans in what I sincerely hope is the worst day of my life to settle things, and even then things couldn't stay settled through the end of the month. At some point the two sides are going to have to start being civil again or bad things are going to start to happen, things that are going to make my wish not come true, things that are gonna make 9-11 look like a nice day.

Sean has indulged in that pastime recently as well.If he is having second thoughts about his own actions, a mea culpa maybe more appropriate.

You of course realize that even with the best treatment from the finest psychiatrists, a "cure" for PTSD is merely an elusive hope. Sad state of affairs for this country.

Hannity is the one that looks like a lizard wearing glasses..

I think you're describing Allen Colmes.

you can blame me. I was the caller from Delaware who said hi to my friends on FR.

Sure Flipper waits until I run out to the store to get the fireworks going! ;-)

...conservatives are by nature more honest and less suitable for that kind of work.

I don't think that's it. Most Conservatives are generally more intelligent than most liberals. I tried infiltrating DU but the extreme dishonesty and stupidity of most of the posts was intolerable.

If Sean has inadvertantly sniped at the President, then he is probably just trying to find a way to make up for it.

I am prepared to forgive him.

That is a weakness Hannity has and what is wrong with politics. All of these people belong to a party at all cost.Really Republicans are no different than Democrats when it comes to party over the average American.I was a Democrat most of my life but under Clinton I was ashamed and honestly believe because of him and his inner circle America will finally fall. But that is the reason I left the Democrats and voted for Bush but I follow no one blindly and that is what is wrong with Party Politics. I would like to see people run as Conservative,Moderate and Liberal this way would give us more of a forum for discussion and disagreement.Plus it would put more issues affecting the average American on the table. The two party system and Bill Clinton is and was very destructive.

At least we keep it mostly in-house.

The squabbling here is a sign of life--of health--as far as I'm concerned. The lock-nut lizards over at DU are mortally afraid of disagreeing with each other. So suffocating is the PC stench at that and other liberal-Democrat sites, all you really need to do is read the opening post and replace the remaining posts with a "what he she) said." Reading more than that is a waste of time.

For example, for very good reasons I strongly suspect that many liberals, especially parents, are actually disgusted by the gay rights agenda--but they dare not say so for fear of being called "homophobes" or (shudder) "conservatives." So they lie and try to outdo one another kissing up to whatever gross sexual perversion is dangled in front of them.

At FR, on the other hand, there is no shortage of brutal honesty. The thin-skinned leave, and perhaps that's best.

Not just between congressmen, but within families. Soon after 9/11 my brother, who is a strong union man and who supported the Clintons, made a hateful remark (not to me) about Barbara Olson. I wouldn't repeat it here. My brother and I hardly speak now.

I think you are exactly right. Someone called me an idiot the other day because I did't agree that drugs should be legalized. The personal attacks are getting horrendous and even if the attacks aren't on me, personally, I find them very distracting and boring. The Van Dam threads(as well as the libertarian threads) are rife with in-fighting and attacks. It gets difficult to sort through the posts to find any serious comments.
