I run Netscape 4.7 w/ some security stuff enabled.

Have been receiving notices (window pop-ups) with a certificate from citizencorps.gov as owner.

Has anyone else been getting this and what do i do about it?

I believe a computer repairman will arrive shortly to fix the problem. He may need to wander around your home a bit to look for sources of EMI.

The solution to pop-ups is the Mozilla browser. Has a built-in popup-stopper. (Other people occasionally have the same problem you mention, I believe. It's not a hack.)

Real doubtful. Something is trying to launch in the background, though, meaning you may have installed some adware or spyware without knowing it.

Definitely go to www.lavasoftUSA.com, and download their free utility which gets rid of those programs.

Have you ever visted their site? If so, download Ad-Aware, and run it. You'll probably find what's causing the prob.

Oh dear. That was such a simple solution, too.

Well, you can do a search of all your files for exe files, and try to figure out which one has been added recently. That's probably the culprit if you haven't installed other new programs.

When I ran the utility, I was shocked to find that I had about 15 of those suckers on my machine. I was getting popups even here on FR.

Pop up Killer works really weel in association with adware running at startup. I use Zonealarm, Adware, AVG from Grisoft.com (free awesome anti-virus with free updates....did I say FREE ?:o) and the pop up killer.
