Thinking about going to Vegas? Get your reservations in now while the room block holds!

The Treasure Island was holding our room block until the 14th, but I talked to them yesterday and they agreed to hold it a while longer! If you were considering attending, now is a good time to make that reservation while the block and the $99 rate holds! After the block is let go, they cannot guarantee a room will be available!

Hmmmm… The FR Conference is being held in Vegas… hmmmm…

The director of the federal Drug Enforcement Administration denounced Thursday a Nevada ballot measure that would legalize the possession of small amounts of marijuana, saying it would bring the wrong type of tourists to the state.

Hmmmm…. are the Libertarians running the asylum?

The California State Department of Fish and Game is advising hikers, hunters, fishermen and golfers to take extra precautions and keep alert for bears while in the Yosemite and Mammoth areas. They advise people to wear noise-producing devices such as little bells on their clothing to alert but not startle the bear unexpectedly. They also advise carrying pepper spray in case of an encounter with a bear.

It is also a good idea to watch for fresh signs of bear activity and know the difference between black bear and grizzly bear droppings. Black bear droppings are smaller and contain berries and possibly squirrel fur. Grizzly bear droppings have little bells in them and smell like pepper spray.

The police in my town have a very simple method to cut down on domestic calls: They just arrest all adults in the home and turn any kids there over to the CPS. That way, the little women learn not to call the cops everytime a beer can turns.

Yes - the odds are 19:1 that you'll be wealthier if you keep your dough in your pocket and enjoy the free cocktails.
