Why is it so necessary to go after Cheney during a time of war?

Bush and Cheney are very popular right now, and their popularity has extended for a long, long time politically speaking. The Dems have tried everything in their power to put a dent in the positive image the American people have for this administration. Nothing has worked. Bush the blunderer, Bush the pretender, Bush the racist--all busts. You may recall that the big re-hash of the Florida vote was all set to go and then...darn! Sept 11 happened. The NY Times, et al, never got to display the banner headlines that Bush Was Never Really Elected. Bush rallied the nation and the nation rallied behind him. The glum Dems had to sort of go along with it for a while.

Tying Bush and Cheney to the corporate stock scandals is the last clear chance for the Dems prior to November. The House and Senate are at stake and the Dems are desperate.

So, this climate of combined hope and desperation among the Dems is perfect for a fund raising campaign. Klayman would be crazy to delay the lawsuit against Cheney. Those fund raising leters need to go, go, go and now, now, now. Stike while the iron is hot. In order to justify the plea for money, their has to be a cause, and the suit is the cause.

I don't expect to get one of the letters, but I could probably just about quote it. Go get one of Klayman's old eight or ten page missles about Travelgate or the Gore E-mail suit, and just substitute Bush and Cheney's name along with Enron and Haliburton, and Voila!-- You are ready to go after a whole new money-raising base to replace the one the one that dried up when Clinton left office.

To answer your question, it might be nice for Klayman to wait til after the war to sue the VP, but it would cost him millions...millions, I tell you!

What did Larry say about his IRS audit? How is that coming along?

Did he say when he was going to file his latest 990's or will JW be asking for extensions like they do every year? Did he say if he has done deals to use DNC mailing lists for fundraising and that he is channeling money back to the DNC by using the same marketing people?

Did Larry talk about the money paid by his "nonprofit" to other entities he is associated with? What about any money to his wife? Did he talk about the condo?

Did he announce the release of financials for his Florida corporation?

Did Larry have any opinion on whether the nonprofit corporation laws should apply to entities that basically comport themselves as "for profit" entities? Did he say if he agrees that we not only need nonprofit corporation reform we also need tort reform that makes the loser pay? So we can kill two birds with one stone and stop bogus "nonprofits" from suing anybody over anything?

Did Larry say when the next cruise trip will be? Will they be selling the JW badges? Watches?

Did Larry say anything about the people that have the opinion that he and JW have done EXACTLY the same thing that the horrid "pump & dump" stock promoters have done the past few years? Pump up their capabilities then basically not do anything they have said they would? In the case of some of the "dot.com's" this was make money in JW's case it was WIN ONE LAWSUIT.

Klayman has not performed any better than ENRON or Global Crossing or any other corporation that promised something and never delivered. In fact, they have performed worse. For years JW has said they "root out corruption in our government and to make sure offenders are brought to justice."

After many years and millions of dollars has he performed as well as a company like Halliburton? Has JW built anything? Employed anyone without begging for the money to do so? Produced anything except "press releases"?

What's the difference between JW and the guy on the street corner that has a sign that says "will work for food"?

Howlin, I wanted to read the remainder of the thread before I expressed my opinion not as well as someone else.

See reply 121 by San Jacinto - I think he hit the nail right on the head.

Klayman's counting on knee-jerk reactions by Dems who won't take the time to figure out that Halliburton's accounting was completely unextraordinary. Why should they? Victimhood and anti-capitalism is all.

Klayman's got a ready-made audience and he knows it.

In my opinion, this idiotic lawsuit is going nowhere - like Larry cares as long as the check clears.
