As I was pulling into the driveway after running errands this morning, I just heard the news on the local all-news, all-the-time radio station in Chicago, that there's been an explosion at the water filtration plant in Chicago, and that many emergency vehicles were being dispatched to the site. Nothing more at this immediate time, but it's being treated as a very serious event.

He says a contractor working with a torch apparently ignited propane and caused an explosion. That worker and another have been taken to a hospital, both with minor injuries.Oh, sure, thats just what THEY want you to think! :)

If a terrorist could get into a water filtration plant, the last thing he would do is blow it up.
This has to be an accident.

Terrorists?! BAH! Terrorists are nothing compared to the dreaded
OSHA INSPECTION!!
(Technically speaking, an OSHA inspection is automatic if 3 or more employees are hospitalized or if there is a fatality, but with this publicity, they should make sure their OSHA log is up to date and get ready for an inspection.)

Post a photo of Hitlery Clinton in here, and that there FR pucker factor meter you got there will go plumb off the charts.

No problem. Water blows up all the time. Move along and let your government handle it. (Yeah, and fuel gauge sensors cause airliners to blow up at random too)
When you think about it, flight 800 was flying over a lot of water when it blew up. Coincidents, I think not! 8-}

My daughter graduated from Great Lakes NTC last June. There is nothing around that area like that.
If you are going to his graduation, suggest that you stay at the Navy Lodge on Great Lakes NTC which is open to parents. They have a warning to be careful at some of the local hotels as some are not in the best area. Navy Lodge is open to parents of graduates.
We have always stayed at the military lodges when traveling as much as possible because most of them are very good and the one at Great Lakes was one of the best not to mention you are only a few streets from the entrance to the Naval Training Center.

Isolated incident. Until we can prove it's a terrorist attack, it is not a terrorist attack. Our country has routinely had generators blow up in the past. (/sarcasm)

I hear the Hudson River used to catch fire with regularity.

High pressure spurging set-up's with chlorine gas, ozone, and other gasses which bind contaminants so they will settle out of solution or become stripped out from spurging.
High volume water filtration is not a docile process. Many, many steps that a non-thinking individual could himself/herself fall prey to Darwin.
