Sorry. But the holes into Somewhere are part of the natural order of things. If you plug them up you risk causing a Teseract that would result in Somewhere being Here and causing a twisted reality. The last time that happened we ended up with a sleazy Arkansas governor being elected president.

The only thing that works (sometimes) is the buddy system where you sew the side of the top band of one sock to another. This helps prevent them from getting separated and being hopelessly lost and alone in "Somewhere" Two socks have a much better chance of finding their way home. A lone sock will panic and become disoriented and never find its way back to the Door before the dryer cycle ends.

Of course sewing the side of your socks together at the top makes you walk funny but at least your socks will match.

Sorry. I would never interfere with a good scam.

As to the story of Somewhere? If you ever have been looking for something and said, "Well, it must be Somewhere!" you are right.

Everything lost Here ends up in Somewhere. Otherwise the world would be come overcrowded with lost items.

In the Land of Somewhere is the Valley of the Lost Socks, The Forest of Lost Keys, The Beach of Lost Buttons on the shore the Sea of Lost Dreams, and through the sky float the Clouds of Lost Time.

No, No, NO! How many time to we have to tell you?

Washing machines have a disgronificator that teleports left socks to the fifth ring of saturn which is composed of 10^14 (there's that blasted caret again) socks.

For those who are mathematically challenged, that is exactly 100,000,000,000,000 left socks. We know this because Maytag just gave a pristeen condition1924 gas powered (with wringer and the first model with automatic disgronificator) washing machine to the lucky owner of the 100,000,000,000,000th sock, Mr. George Frimml, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

It means that thread will open in a new window.

Whew! I thought it meant that the Mossad/CIA had used Carnivore to enter the posting person's computer via his IP and the trap door in Windows to steal his identity and to see if he had ever typed anything subversive or had any computer generated kiddie porn in his files..../sarcasm

Please, this is a serious, nay solemn, thread. Could you keep your Cocker Spaniels and Texas out of it?

Or would caulk be better?

There was recently a thread posted to alt.home.repair which quite innocently posed the question of, "Which is the cock?"

Needless to say, the folks there had all kinds of fun with that one.
