Vanity: A New American
Posted on 07/09/2002 6:17:04 AM PDT by ko_kyi
I just wanted to share a bit of excitement with FR. My wife Kathi was naturalized yesterday in a nice ceremony at Ft. McHenry in Baltimore. She wept with pride. She was born in Burma, but is an American in spirit and always has been. If all immigrants were like her, we would have open borders. A great mother, a wonderful wife, and a self-starting law-abiding patriotic American citizen!

Congratulations! Only people who have been naturalized can really understand the emotions involved with the ceremony. There are only a few times in your life when you can really feel this type of pride and sense of country.
A BOUQUET JUST FOR YOU!

Congratulations! I would trade many, far too many, of our home grown "citizens" for a few of these great new Americans!
Note: I am talking about trading lazy ass American, whining non-working, looking for a hand out loosers for a few hardworking, pro-America and pro-American-way, immigrants.

Congratulations.
I recall attending my wife's naturalization ceremony and can relate to your statement about 'good' immigrants. With all our immigration woes its easy to forget there are good people out there we should be happy to have as our countrymen.

Welcome to the U.S.A.!
One thing that has always struck me when watching the Olympics is looking at athletes when they are not in uniform. This one could be Korean. That one could be Spanish. Another one could be Nigerian.
Or, they could ALL be American! And they CAN be American, if they are willing to commit themselves as your wife has. Congratulations.
