Will The Real Al Gore Please Shut Up?

Kim M. Inganamort

Recently seen attacking the current administration and getting ready for his next campaign our last Vice President has began to crawl out from under his rock. Whereas his presence used to make me cringe with his plastic personality and "by the polls" positions I got a good laugh from him this week. He was making some speech about how the Bush administration was failing in their war on terror and using patriotism to make the liberals look bad. I think they do that well enough on their own, but I will not get into that here. The reason I laughed was probably more relief than anything. I now have relief that people have experienced something other than what they received in the previous administration, and realize they do not have to put up with that. For example, how Darrell Hammond explained the previous presidency at the 2001 White House Correspondence Dinner, "like every day he'd be in a different jam, and not a fender bender, the kind of stuff James Bond can't get out of." If you can get your hands on a tape of this I highly recommend it, over a year later and I still watch it at least monthly and laugh so hard I drive my neighbors nuts.

First off I am going to rebut his attack that the war on terror is thus far a failure. Well Mr. Gore, I beg to differ. Your claim that we are not even winning the war because Bin Ladin is not yet been proven dead is empty. First off, in a few short months we have taken a nation from a terror regime and returned it to its people. We have brought little girls back into the classroom and given a nation devoid of hope a new opportunity. Not that we can abandon that country entirely (the terrorists who were released and escaped are awaiting a time when they can return) but we have basically fixed a broken country in under a year. We are helping to build their military by training them and giving them equipment, and we are partaking in charitable actions there by feeding the hungry and clothing the naked. This has come at a cost, for we have lost many men and women from our armed forces. But they did not die in vain.

As for Bin Ladin we can only speculate at this point about his location and condition. I personally think that even if all we did was make him go into exile, and make it harder for him to treat his kidney problems than we are on our way to bringing his demise. My thought is that if he were still alive after all of our cave bombings he would be sending out current tapes proving he was still alive to give his terrorist networks knowledge that the US cannot take him down. If he is actually dead I do not believe that they would make it public, because many would probably abort any actions they are planning and consider the cause dead with Bin Ladin. So he is most likely dead in some cave, but even if he is not it does not mean failure to our war.

In reference to the administration using the war and patriotism to make democrats look bad, I think that was a foolish thing for Gore to say. Should Bush have let the September 11 attacks go unnoticed (like Clinton allowed his terrorist attacks) simply so the democrats wouldn't look bad to a nation loving people? I am sure when Clinton bombed pharmaceutical companies he was worrying about what the republicans would look like, since the order to fight terrorism came from a democrat. In fact, I do believe the man was more worried about his intern scandal. The fact of the matter is, the Bush administration has more than succeeded at trying to make the democrats look like they are patriotic too, though they often fight it.

I am surprised Gore's statements this week did not gain more media coverage, simply because the previous administration was such a media hog, but I guess people are over them. They see now what a real presidency is supposed to be like, I just hope they remember in 2004. The American people, due to the administration transition now know/remember what it is like to have honor and pride in being such a nation. Foreigners don't laugh at us anymore. They don't ridicule the most powerful nation in the world. They have respect and love for us. When we read reports of foreign soldiers dying in a war we began, that is where you see the love the world has for America.

Happy Independence Day!

Algore is whatever he thinks will sell best. Between 1988 and 1992, he went from being closely associated with an antigay church to being openly pro-gay.

Now he says any 2004 will be "him" - rather than pollsters' advice. Expect the opposite after the way he lost in 2000 - by losing the entire heartland over social issues.

Algore in his own words, 1992-2000 - including Earth In The Balance!

Between 1988 and 1992, he went from being closely associated with an anti[Homosexual] church to being openly pro-[Homosexual.]

I have seen Al Goreleone up close and personal, watched him try to run; attempt to throw balls and his body language as he attempts to relate physically with his "spouse" -- and am willing to bet a year's income that that extraordinarily queer creature, serial dropout and serial pathological liar; the world's once most dangerous dullard; IS [Of "'homosexual' orientation."]

As camp as a row of tents!

The return and reinvention of Al Gore was depressing for me. I had almost forgotten how offensive that brand of politics is with inane claims and charges, innacurate comparisons (Enron vs the US budget)etc. He clearly plays to a group of disaffected people. Honest disagreement between parties is good but the type of politicing and misrepresentation of facts is terrible. My hope is that the people who are not disaffected see through it and send a clear message it is wrong in November.

Oh man this article is great! Yeah good ol' Al is still able to give us all a chuckle with his "reckless running of the mouth"

I don't think anybody (minus a few desperate Dems and libs who can't seem to let go) is giving the "walking board that talks" the time of day. And like it was pointed out in the article, the media could care less either.

2004 looks better and better everyday! Now lets get that economy turned around!

Gore has not changed one bit. A puffy, whiney dweeb with zero political skills. What a goofball.
