He just stood on his porch and played the bagpipes while the people left the beach? Fabulous!

dead is from The Land of Rocks, too - but he now lives in that state below us that smells real bad.

Thanks, it's a lot of fun. We started this about 7 years ago, and has blossemed into a 'big' family event. Gotta run, I don't do roofs (or is is rooves?). The kids are trampling all over now. Enjoy the rest of your holiday!

reporting in from Wichita, KS:
At the college stadium they have a lot of people decked out in red, white, and blue. The program started with the Pledge of Allegiance and everyone SHOUTED 'under God.' It was great!!!!!!

I had the impression he wasn't originally a Rocklander. I was a fairly well placed functionary in the Town in which he lived.

My husband has been working lots of hours lately so he slept until he was ready to get up, went and bought fireworks, it rained this afternoon, so we didn't grill we baked chicken, watched some tv, we just came in from lighting fireworks & watching the neighbors do the same. It was a nice, relaxing day.
It's good to be an American and I thank God I was born in this country!!

...nothing will ever top marrying this one...If I found the cure for cancer it'd be
the second smartest thing I ever did.
You've got a nice looking lady who appears to be proficient in procuring
low-fat protein wild game for supper.
Put simply, you hit the lottery!

How about ham, eggs and pancakes at a local park served to anyone who came. Later, in the same park there were dozens of games and activities for hundreds of kids, food booths, activities and hot dogs, lemonade, corn chips and tater salad. Tonight, the city will light up with a big fireworks show. Small town stuff, but just great. I love America!
We lived overseas for 17 years and one of my greatest thrills was to see the American flag flying over our embassies. It may be just a symbol, but it's a great one!

I just got back from the Lincoln Memorial. Getting past the security checkpoints was not as bad as I anticipated. There weren't as many people at the Memorial as in past years. In fact we got there at 9pm and got to sit on one of the blockade things right in front of the Memorial. Great view. Fireworks were great.

No matter what else I do in my life, nothing will ever top marrying this one. Nothing could even come close. If I found the cure for cancer it'd be the second smartest thing I ever did.
Well, okay..
But if it were me I would take the girl over a stupid fish any day.
(But HEY! Whatever you do in the privacy of your own home..)

Howlin, you watching the Sacrameto fireworks on A&E? Quite impressive. Just had a quote from the President from his speech to the Congress.

Amen to that.
We really won't be shooting off fireworks tonight, but will do that tomorrow since the family will be able to come tomorrow. However, tonight the town is lit up with fireworks going off all over the place. There was an ice cream social and town display going on right now.
I really loved seeing folks in Wichita shout "under God" on tv....:)
This is the first time I have watched 4th of July coverage on tv very much and quite frankly, only NBC has any decent coverage. ABC SUCKED SOME VERY ROTTEN EGGS.
To: CaptRon; dead
Did you ever stump in the local saloons?
To: CaptRon
I still have A*E on since nobody else is showing anything.
