I don't think that Israel would say they thought it was a terrorist attack if they didn't know something for sure. To them in their paranoid state, anyone shooting an Israeli or someone at an EL Al line is automatically a terrorist.
I wouldnt believe anything for another hour or two. FBI spokesman said the Israelis caught the guy and then shot him. Obviously he mispoke but the people on Fox caught it.

Matt Welch, the proprietor-cynic of the L. A. Examiner site, fell for the urban legend too. The British Channel Four had the right name for it -- "malicious disinformation." Anyone for a boycott of Viacom?Nope. Channel 4 reporters can call it whatever they want; the fact is they're just trying to shift blame because they're embarrassed. The problem is not prank phone callers, it's LAZY and STUPID anchors, producers and reporters who will put on the air anyone who calls into the network or approaches a camera and says "Hey, I was there dude!" without making even the most superficial attempts to test the person's story for holes or unbelievably over-the-top or just plain goofy claims.
It is the fault of the journalists, 100%.

I was watching Fox News this afternoon and they interviewed a foreign eyewitness that stated the suspect was "Arab" or "Arabian" -- another eyewitness said that he "had a tan" -- since then the story has not been repeated.
