I think Fred has better taste than that - I hope it was just a rumor.
OTOH, he did date country diva Lorrie Morgan for a few years.

Question for Freepin' ladies: what does a 35 yo woman see in a 59 yo man? Money, power and prestige. Plus being the wife of a Senator I am sure has it's perks. Give this marriage about 5-10 years and she will divorce him (after she gets what she can out of the deal). By then she will be in her 40's and he will be getting close to 70.
I am 40 and would never marry anyone at the age of 59 (I would have to be soooo head over heals in love with the guy and even then it would take some doing).

The 6-foot-6 Tennessee Republican with the booming baritone is a former Hollywood actor who played leading roles in two real-life dramas: chief Senate Republican lawyer during Watergate in the 1970s and Senate chairman for the hearings into the Clinton fund-raising scandal in the 1990s. Actually it was three roles and this one involved political corruption as well. He represented a Tennessee Department of Corrections Director who was going up against a very corrupt governor at that time. Clemency for cash was the deal. The event was later made into a movie called "Marie" and Fred played the part of himself. Fred you're a lot better lawyer than politican. Please remain in the private sector and have a good life.

Hey, this may turn out to be ok. I lived on the border of Naperville, Illinois for many years. It's a beautiful and affluent suburb due west of the Windy City, and is home to many ChiTown executives and other big shots. It's a rock-ribbed conservative Republican city, settled by solid German and Alsace-Lorraine immigrant farmers in the early 1800's.
Some of this good stuff may rub off on Sen. Thompson. Just be happy he didn't marry someone from Beserkeley, CA.

WOW. This fits my ancestors to a tee.
I guess no wonder I grew up there. I'm sorta stunned. Never noticed the connection.
