Fox News Channel a few minute ago had an interview with Lee Greenwood regarding the Pledge of Allegiance controversial rulling of the 9th Circuit court. Lee said he had just finished writing a song, and offered to sing it. It was of course the Pledge of Allegiance. A beautifull song, that only Lee can sing. It made a few tears in my eyes, and I don't cry easily.

Not a new song, lawgirl. He wrote the MUSIC to the Pledge back in the 90's. It is pretty good.
I thnk I am going looking for that "American Patriot" CD. Also Charlie Daniels. I am converting to country western radio...they are beginning to make the most sense of anyone doing commentary.

OH Miss Marple I am so glad to hear it. I was so afraid of another example of quick songwriting gone horribly wrong. Thanks for the correct.

Thanks very much, I will buy the CD when I find it.

The song may not be new, I maybe wrong to report it as a new song, I have never heard it before. The beauty of a song depends indeed on the detector.

sweet jesus, that talentless man has no shame. would you mind not using the Lords name in Vain..
who are you talking about??

Lee Greenwood has a CD called "Lee Greenwood - American Patriot". The Pledge of Alliegiance is one of 10 beautiful songs including "God Bless the USA" on this CD. Suprisingly this CD was released in 1992. Wait until you hear The Pledge of Alliegiance on this CD - I played it before we began eating our Thanksgiving dinner.

Is this the song where he speaks through parts of it? If so, it's been out on a CD of his since 9/11.

He was interviewed by phone on one of the stations yesterday, and HE WAS HOPPING MAD over the courts decision! You could almost see the smoke coming out of the phone. KUDOS to Mr. Greenwood

Thanks much!
To: RoseofTexas
Be assured, Mr. Greenwood is not the only one hopping mad.
From the President all the way down to the lowest democrats(I can't guarrantee the sincerity of these dems however).

"...but anyone that can write a song in 24 hours---hmmm I doubt how good it is. " Many great songs have been written in just minutes, in one sitting. That means it came from the heart and soul, not from some "formula". Ask any great songwriter how long it took to write their best material.
To: TommyDale
What you say is true, usually great artists have their compositions rattling in their minds for a long time before a trigger happens which drive them to put it into practice.
However, I did make a mistake in claiming that the song is new, out of ignorance. Just to show you how deep the knowledge is in FR. If you make an error, it will never go uncorrected.
