Questions about the Canadian System
Numberten ^ | June 24th, 2002 | James Bredin

Canada is between dictatorship and the deep blue sea. The prime minister and his friends rule the media and all political propaganda. Canadians are like sheep being led to the balot box.

Still More Questions

By

James Bredin

Do Canadians have a right to know the truth?
Why should this question appear so uncouth?
Should political propaganda manage all the news?
Does freedom of the press allow for this abuse?

Does freedom of the owners mean they can lie?
Or bend or leave the truth by what they may imply?
Why do they want to deny us all which way to go?
To stay chained forever while stuck in the status quo?

Is the hype of politicians more important than the truth?
Bent to guide the people while at the poling booth?
Is there a way to right these many apparent wrongs?
Just to change his Charter – what goes and what belongs?

Can Canadians have a Charter written just for them?
-- not terrorists and refugees that no one can condemn
Could Canadians be all equal and no special cases,
For special interest groups or aboriginal races?

Why do Canadians accept these judge-made laws?
By unquestioned appointees with many hidden flaws?
What about multiculturalism and fraudulent francophonie?
Should Canadians keep accepting this federal baloney?

Could Canadians have two-term limit politicians?
Or must we be enslaved forever to his lifetime ambitions?
Should we have access to real government information?
Instead of a law that bans us all forever in frustration?

Canada still has elections, and the Canadians have the government they choose for themselves. Not quite a dictatorship, although they seem regularly to choose officials who are contemptuous of them.

Why can I keep Mexicans as slaves, but not Canadians? This is not what our founding fathers had in mind.

Because, as a rule Canadians are more educated than Mexican's. And, they watch American TV, too.

I was up in Toronto for the NHL Draft this weekend. Nice city, very clean, unlike some of the pig sties that pass for cities in this country.

Having said this, I think it is absurd that Canadians get their news from the government-run organizations. As bad as cBS, NBC, ABC, etc. are in this country, they are a walk in the park compared to CBC and CTV, to name a couple. Peter Mansbridge (CBC anchor) might be an even bigger dork than fellow countryman Peter Jennings, if that is possible.

As for Canada being a dictatorship, I don't think it is quite that bad, but there are some horrible politicians in the country, no question. Chretien does provide some entertainment, though, particularly in the way he pronounces the word "happiness", which comes out sounding like "a-penis".

Because they drink all your beer, and they all sound like Neil Young when they sing.

Toronto is one of my favorite cities. It is a clean, friendly city and has great restaurants. The people love to have a good time, but they don't drink to excess. Well, some do perhaps, but they stay in control. Oh, yeah, the women are very friendly, too.

Now with all that happening, who cares about politics?

Down in sunny-down-town California -- where I live when I am at home -- all of the Mexican and other Native Central and South American Native criminal-alien escapees FRom those states' various ruling elites are pissed off at the huge number of Canadian and other East Indian criminal aliens who are down there stealing all of the criminal alien jobs!

Canada is well run. A monarchy's supposed to be. Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal are great cities to visit if you leave aside the politics. The best that can be said for Canada from an American point of view is that is has a European flavor without emptying your wallet. :)

Your hearing is severely damaged if you think Neil Young sounds better than either of them. In fact, the ONLY one I know that makes Neil's whine sound semi-good in comparison is Bob Dylan. Even then,it's close.

In the Canadian system about all conservatives can do is deposit their weight on the benches in Parliament's cafeteria. Jean Chretien and the socialists make all the rules. Gotta love responsible cabinet government inherited from the mother country. For the British North America colonies it seemed like such a good idea at the time. No one could have predicted in 1867 that a century and a half later Canadians would be turned off from politics.

Truth be told, when you're scraping the bottom of the barrel, there's always an element of subjectivity in that sort of call. I didn't say any of them sounded good, did I?

But don't think that means that you can't get lower that Neil - I do know one singing Canadian who can make all three of them sound good by comparison...
