Given the carping and nasty nature of FR as of late, I thought it might be a good time to see the more civil and gracious side of participants. Here is a thread for just that purpose to edify, encourage, and thank.
Ever wanted to thank that unsung FR hero? Agree or disagree, why not tell JohnHuang2 or Registered how much you appreciate their skills. And can you imagine the many hours Alamo-Girl puts into her work? Perhaps you appreciate how well the folks over at Word For The Day wield their words. Or maybe you just want to tell WIMom and her gang that youre sorry for all your unkind words about the recent Freepathon ads, and thank her for all her hard work on that. Maybe you are an FR Radio fan. Well, you get the idea.
What this thread is NOT for: complaints against the management, flaming those you disagree with, bashing the current administration, leaving your opus, whinning about someone being banned, criticizing FR spelling, grammar, or sentence structure, calling out newbies (unless they are disrupting this thread, of course), shilling for your candidacy, carping about a particular regular thread. Well, you get the idea.
Freep on
..
P.S. No, Im not fishing for compliments. Ive already been called every name in the book here on FR, and toothless hag is still my personal favorite.

Most of the time I just lurk. However, I'd first like to thank JimRob for this great site....
then JohnHuang2 for his thoughtful commentaries.....
and then Trueblackman for his input. If is wasn't for him, I wouldn't have a clue in the world as to what conservative blacks want or think about. I have learned a lot from him.

kay, lysie, thanks for the ping. Ya'all are the best.
There are so many people here who I would want to compliment that have made this site great. The same number that I would like to thank for all of their hard work. There are so many that I will not attempt to list them all.
I have met many FReepers in person. FReeped with them, laughed with them, cried with them, broke bread with them. Some of the FReeps were protests, or counter protests. Others were just get togethers. Then, one November morn things started to get real strange. The election would be contested. The election aftermath was gut wrenching. We had to do something to prevent a coup, and FReerepublic was one major rallying point. We did something that the democRATS had never seen before...we went to the streets, in masse. Everywhere we (FReepers, broken glass Pubies, NRA, et. al.) out numbered the gorons. Even in their back yards.
JimRob and JohnRob deserve compliments, but most of all they deserve our sincere thanks. For if not for FR, the Republic may have been lost.

By all means let me know about the chat room, and, of course, also if you ever do plan on coming out this way.

I would like to thank you for being courteous and disagreeing simply on issues, and for being supportful of the President when you can, even though I know you are aggravated about other issues. That is the mark of a thnking person, and a gentleman, and I am most grateful.
Plus, I like your graphics! And I love your poetry!

Thanks for doing a super important job so the rest of us can have such great fun!

Much respect and thanks to dead and deb for making me laugh out loud at their posts and convince my co-workers that I am , indeed, crazy. "Urine soaked booze hound"... whew! That's still funny. Years later. And dead, the parodies. Good stuff. Rainman. Citizen Clinton. It's all good.
Thinking about those parodies, whatever happened to IowaHawk? Now that guy could write some funny stuff. The Onion-esque news stories? Hilarious.
I haven't seen OWK's posts lately. But I've always appreciated his consistent defense of libertarian views, even though I occassionaly disagreed with him.
I don't post too often anymore (not that I was ever as prolific as some), but each and every one of us is important to this little corner of the internet. Thanks to all.
To: ArGee
Thanks to you, also. It's been a hoot.
