[history]
Democratic lawmakers said Hispanics will see through President Bush's efforts to try to win their votes, despite his current strong showing in polls of the Hispanic electorate.
"The Bush administration is making a very overt, I think fairly craven, crass effort to appeal to Hispanic Americans," said Sen. John Kerry, Massachusetts Democrat and one of a handful of Democrats exploring a run against Mr. Bush in 2004. He spoke to about 100 Hispanic elected officials and community leaders at Senate Democrats' third annual Hispanic outreach summit. It was held at the U.S. Capitol.

The Democrats are masters of pandering. They, therefore, will try and paint W with the same brush

Be honest: aren't you always surprised that they aren't struck dead on the spot when they say stuff like that?

"Be honest: aren't you always surprised that they aren't struck dead on the spot when they say stuff like that?" Indeed. It does test my faith in God a bit when statements like Kerrey's and McAuliffe's aren't followed by a lightening bolt that reduces them to pink steam.
Kennedy, on the other hand, would produce a bright orange fireball from all of the fat and Chivas igniting at once.

Is it just me, or are the Dems getting nervous that it just may be working for the GOP after all?

What a great reply to really start my heart pumping and the smiles bursting this morning. Thank you!:

You bet they are getting nervous.
The law abiding, legal, home owning Mexican Americans are very family oriented, church oriented and are 180 degrees away from the pandering of the Rats to the illegal aliens.
GW is making great strides with this population. Since 9/11 there are blacks waking up that it is better to be a live American than a dead black activist due to some terrorist act. One of my best friends has been that rare creature, a conservative black American. Most members of his side of the family have served in the military and were good soldiers and sailors. These men and their wives are flying the American Flag and becoming more conservative each day.

I think you are correct. The Dems are worried, because they CANNOT scare and race-bait the Hispanics the way they can with black voters, and even then, I think a lot of black voters are going to start seeing through the smoke and mirrors.
The clock is ticking for the left. The true believers are going to the Green Party, and they are losing the center. We just have to hold on and stay the course.

Bush could walk on water and cure the common cold - all before breakfast - and the dem-holes along with their media toadies would scoff.

You posted,
The clock is ticking for the left. The true believers are going to the Green Party! Out here in California, we are trying to expedited more rats going to the green party to vote for the green candidate for governor this November! A vote for the green whacko is one less vote for Davis.

"The Bush administration is making a very overt, I think fairly craven, crass effort to appeal to Hispanic Americans," said Sen. John Kerry,... Methinks little Johnny Kerry is whistling through the graveyard with that statement. I sense more than a little panic in their statements as they continue to flail around for a message and are having no luck at all.

It also occurs to me that there are a fair number of Hispanics in the military, who may be having an influence on their community as well.
Statements like this let me know that we have "smoked them out and have them on the run." Ha!

When Republicans reach out to Hispanics it is crass. When Democrats pander to whatever group they are courting it is politics. Kerry doesn't stand of a snowball in he$$, rolling up hill at being President. I smell fear!
