ISAIAH CHAPTER 17 reads,
An oracle concerning Damascus. Behold, Damascus will cease to be a city, and will become a heap of ruins. 2 Her cities will be deserted for ever; they will be for flocks, which will lie down, and none will make them afraid. 3 The fortress will disappear from E'phraim, and the kingdom from Damascus; and the remnant of Syria will be like the glory of the children of Israel, says the LORD of hosts. 4 And in that day the glory of Jacob will be brought low, and the fat of his flesh will grow lean. 5 And it shall be as when the reaper gathers standing grain and his arm harvests the ears, and as when one gleans the ears of grain in the Valley of Reph'aim. 6 Gleanings will be left in it, as when an olive tree is beaten--two or three berries in the top of the highest bough, four or five on the branches of a fruit tree, says the LORD God of Israel. 7 In that day men will regard their Maker, and their eyes will look to the Holy One of Israel; 8 they will not have regard for the altars, the work of their hands, and they will not look to what their own fingers have made, either the Ashe'rim or the altars of incense. 9 In that day their strong cities will be like the deserted places of the Hivites and the Amorites, which they deserted because of the children of Israel, and there will be desolation. 10 For you have forgotten the God of your salvation, and have not remembered the Rock of your refuge; therefore, though you plant pleasant plants and set out slips of an alien god, 11 though you make them grow on the day that you plant them, and make them blossom in the morning that you sow; yet the harvest will flee away in a day of grief and incurable pain. 12 Ah, the thunder of many peoples, they thunder like the thundering of the sea! Ah, the roar of nations, they roar like the roaring of mighty waters! 13 The nations roar like the roaring of many waters, but he will rebuke them, and they will flee far away, chased like chaff on the mountains before the wind and whirling dust before the storm. 14 At evening time, behold, terror! Before morning, they are no more! This is the portion of those who despoil us, and the lot of those who plunder us.
September 11: the Syrian Mohammed Haydar Zammar is held in Syria
Tuesday June 18, 2002 - 15h43 GMT
BERLIN, June 18 (AFP) - Mohammed Haydar Zammar, a German of Syrian origin suspected of having recruited the hijackers who flew the planes commits suicide attacks of September 11 against the United States, is currently held in Syria, affirms the chain of television ZDF.
Since months, the man would be in a Syrian prison and the United States for a long time was able to come into contact with him, affirms ZDF by quoting a source "close to the services of safety in Germany".
According to ZDF, the business could cause diplomatic frictions between the United States, Syria and Germany, because Damas would have been legally obliged, in the name of the Convention of Vienna, to inform Berlin of the arrest of this German national.
Germany was informed only last week that Zammar was held in Syria, continues ZDF. On its side, the German government refused to confirm this information.
An American person in charge, city under cover of anoymat last week by Washington Post, had indicated that "Zammar was not trotted in the streets".
Zammar is suspected of having played an essential role to connect Mohammed Atta, the head of the hijackers, with the direction of network Al-Qaïda in Afghanistan. It was in a mosque of Hamburg (northern of Germany) a lawyer charismatic of the holy war against the Occident, that Atta and other men of its group also attended.
After the attacks of September 11, Zammar, 41 years, had been questioned, then slackened by the German police force. It had then left in October Germany for Morocco.

So, both Iraq, and Syria are showing cooperation. The only country that is not showing any cooperation with the US is Saudi Arabia.
Of course, our media spent years vilifying Iraq, and Syria and cannot do 180 degree change? WE need to understand one thing, this mess is a religious hate, sponsored by Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Iran. These countries should be our enemies, not the secular dictatorships in Syria or Iraq. But I am just a one stupid voice, and all the smart a### in Washington know better!
It's nice to see that Rosie Greer finally got Ray Milland's head removed from his shoulder.
Now with respect to the reporting of this key figure being held, I DO NOT WANT TO KNOW. I am sick to my stomach of the media undermining our govt's attempt to protect us from those who would kill us and cause us untold pain and suffering. I DO NOT WANT TO KNOW (if it jeopardized operational secrecy).
