I want to see you, but then I REALLY do want to see Willa. Bump to you guys, looking forward to the great conference in August.
To: BADJOE
Got my reservations at the Treasure Island. See you there.

A great point of interest will be to see if all you Freepers are as rude to each other's faces as you are in cyberspace.

A great point of interest will be to see if all you Freepers are as rude to each other's faces as you are in cyberspace. I've already compiled a short list of screen names whose owners I've noticed to have clashed here in the past. I'll be watching for interactions between them with great interest.

My experience is that face to face discussions often bring a more thoughtful and reserved demeanour.
The cyberspace "you are totally clueless, pal", will become "well now, that's certainly a different way of looking at things."

My experience is that face to face discussions often bring a more thoughtful and reserved demeanour. That is my experience as well. However, Freeper interpersonal dynamics will be most fascinating to watch when ethanol, stress, excitement, and the presence of large numbers of people get folded into the mix, which they surely will at this function. Most of us are intelligent folk; if we weren't, we would be posting at DU instead of here. And intelligent people react to stimuli in surprisingly different ways.
It's going to be fun. Let the fireworks begin!

Still trying to juggle my schedule around. How many are coming so far?
To: strela; marshmallow
For one thing, the written word often comes of much more coarse even if you say the exact same things. The lack of facial express and body language frequently make the written word seem offensive, when the intent is simply to exchange ideas. From my experience at these gatherings, people meet, laugh at each other and themselves and carry on conversations without animosity. That's as it should be.

I have no idea how many are coming, but I am hoping for at least 500.

Well Strela. I went to the March for Justice. There were 5,000 of us there.
I will tell you that it was the greatest gathering of liberty loving intelligence since our founding fathers met in Philadelphia in 1776.
The interaction between the Freepers was delightful. Any who miss this opportunity are depriving themselves of a thrilling experiance.

I went to the March for Justice. There were 5,000 of us there. How wonderful for you! I myself have been to only one (Sore Loserman Freep right after the election at the Ft. Worth TX courthouse), but it was unforgettable. I even got interviewed by one of the local TV stations (and took the resulting "abuse" from my cow orkers with pride).
I will be attending more, big mouth and signs at the ready.
