Did you hear the milkman say he may have seen Elizabeth and given her a treat from his truck...? Yes. And your point?
To: Iwo Jima
edmunds is not the person he saw in the car (Edmunds' car). He has never been asked to describe the man he saw to the police, and he has never done so.
how do you know that

Is this the first time he has mentioned this?
To: Lorraine
Yes, now we're being treated to theories that the police are only pretending to be inept and the family is actively trying to look suspicious because they know exactly who took Elizabeth and are just playing for time until they can locate where she is. I just do not think that there is that sophisticated a plan going on.
To: mystery-ak
Mentioned what?
To: cherry
He was on Greta. I was typing as I listened.

Beats me. It's the first time I've seen anything on TV about this. I rely on FR to get my news. But, reading these threads got me interested enough to turn on Fox News just now and that interview just happened to be on.
In any case, I heard him say that and didn't think anything of it. Did you think it made him sound suspicious?
To: cantfindagoodscreenname
Well, I have seen him interviewed several times and this is the first time(to my knowledge) that he has mentioned that.
To: Iwo Jima
Well, it IS possible, so we can't rule it out either. Frankly, it might be the best if its true, because it may help keep Elizabeth alive.
As an aside. In one of the early articles it said 'A gunman broke into their home and abducted Elizabeth, telling her sister not to tell anyone he had come.'
I might understand, 'don't tell anyone I was here', but the 'he had come' just struck me as strange wording.

Mentioned what?
To: mystery-ak
Someone else posted that he had said that, but frankly it seemed so unlikely that I did not really believe it.
To: mystery-ak
It could just be because it was the first time he was asked if he'd ever seen her. Do you think he should have mentioned that if he hadn't been asked?
To: Blood of Tyrants; Utah Girl
Not only does this guy not match the description given by Mary Katherine, the milkman said that he's not the guy he saw that morning after he saw the picture, according to earlier posters here today.
Maybe the guy's guilty as sin, but if he's this sloppy about getting away, it's hard to believe he's clever enough to break into an occupied house and get back out again with a young girl without being detected.
He was living in his car. It's not that unusual that he could be hanging out in the park regularly, (drinking beer?), and happened to be there during the vigil. He knew he had outstanding warrants so when the cops approached he ran.
I have no idea...it just smells like a red herring to me. The guy has no history of sexual crimes.

The milkman mentioned that he has delivered milk on Elizabeth's street and may have given her a treat from his truck while she stood at a bus-stop, he does this a lot with kids in the neighborhoods....
To: mystery-ak
Thanks. That is not the first time he mentioned it. It was mentioned in the LKL transcript where the uncle says those odd things about the perp.
To: mystery-ak
Oh, you mean mentioned that he might have seen Elizabeth before, not whether or not he had ever told the police that the man he saw was not Edmunds. Sorry. I don't know if he had ever mentioned the possibility of having seen Elizabeth before. Doesn't sound like the police care much about what he knew or saw.
To: cantfindagoodscreenname
Let's suppose the milkman is a suspect. He drives by the house daily. He has a good understanding of the house and the layout. He even fantasizes a plan but can't find the right opportunity. Then this drifter shows up and suddenly there's an opportunity. He makes the snatch, but before doing so, he is sure to photograph the strange car to help the police when the investigation begins.
That sounds about as plausible as any other theory out there. Wonder if the guy wore a white cap. What's the name of the dairy? Do they have a web site where we can view their employee uniforms?

There is something else. Remember the convenience store surveillance camera taping someone steeling beer? Everyone thought it was him, then that fizzled out too. I think that was before the vigil.
To: Iwo Jima
All we need now is a white Ford Bronco

Ok, I missed the LK interview so I didn't know that this was mentioned.
