Being as you spoke of your Green Bay Packers, here is a little story you will appreciate...

I was born and raised in Chicago, so naturally we cheer for the Chicago Bears...and you know, full well, the rivalry, that exists, between the Bears and the Packers...

Now in October, was when our church had its big annual Homecoming, where former members and members who had moved away, came back on a Sunday afternoon service, full of remembrances, and lots of singing, and then a huge pot luck dinner in the evening...It was an immensely big event, months in the planning every year, and looked forward to by everyone...the church was packed, SRO, and no one wished to miss this great time...

Now is just so happened, that this one year, Homecoming fell on a Sunday, when the Bears and Packers would be playing against one another...and the minister, ever mindful of his flocks enthusiasm for football, wanted to be able to accomodate those sports fans, and still allow them to attend the service...so here is what they settled on...

A few of the men would 'volunteer' to sit down in the basement with a radio and a television, and watch and listen to the game(This was during the 1960s, so before the time of VCRS)

Each time the score changed one of the men would come up from the basement and go to the pulpit, and whisper into the ministers ear what had occurred in the game...And the minister would announce this to the congregation...that way, all the sports fans could attend the Homecoming service, and still get a play by play of the Bears vs Packers game...

The hunters generally prevail around here as well - and there are special rules for the farmers - when the critters start on the crops.

In addition to the geese we've also got a major deer problem here. Just this morning I saw a dead doe on the side of the road. That's the third one I've seen this month.

And yes I notify Fish and Wildlife when I see one - it got to the point where I've programmed their number into my cell phone!!!

He has had a rough time with it. He apparently denied that he had it, and I let him have a couple of shots before we went to the ranch, and he missed at 50 yards. One he didn't see at 25 yards and cost me the shot. On the way home I made him stop driving and I drove home. I discussed it with his wife and was informed that he had been told that he had diabetes and was denying it until our trip. He got mad at me for telling his wife and didn't speak to me for about a year.

That was about 7-8 years ago, and he has it under control but no more hunting and fishing as he is too brittle.

I think Palo was talking about me...I was complaining about the heat here, almost 90, and said I was posting with almost next to nothing on, in contrast to two weeks ago, when I was posting wearing my longjohns...

HANDS OFF of my Dizzy....you saw that pic Christine posted, well that big furry looking cat, is exactly what my Dizzy looks like...hes a big rough guy, he will get you if you try to kidnap him(When he gets angry with us, he poops on the bed)...so if you dont want cat poop on your bed, you best leave Mr.Dizzy alone...

Very good!!!!!!

Someone is going to accuse me of being the one feeding birds around here.

We've beeing feeding the dogs out on the deck evry morning and when they decide they want back in - the birds have discovered the bowls. My big dingbat has all of a sudden decided to remember that she's supposed to be a bird dog (half black lab half chesapeake bay) - unfortunately we are talking about robins, bluejays, blackbirds and crows not geese or ducks.

I don't know which is worse - constantly letting her in and out of the house to chase the birds - or having to steam clean the carpets twice a week because they refuse to eat their food in the kitchen!!!!!!!!
