I got the impression from the article that the robbery was last week. When was this robbery?

How could they have "missed" finding MONEY! My kids can SMELL it in my purse at the other end of the house and these guys over-looked it?

Looks like Rock Creek is a dumping ground for stolen cash, goods, and bodies. Sad but true. Poor Chandra. Whatever happened to her, she didn't deserve it. She was so young and foolish - been there done that! May her dear soul rest in peace now and forever! And may her dear mother, father, brother, be comforted by God's healing grace and power and love!

I wouldn't be surprised if they found the murderer sitting under a tree near the scene.

I am reminded of an incident that happened down here.

A woman called the police and reported that her father, who has alheizmers(sp), had wandered off from her home. The clerk at a near by convenience store reported that he had seen the guy just minutes before. The search party began searching the woods behind the store. About 30 minutes later the lady recieved a happy call from the police that she could come to the store and pick up her dad, they'd found him.

The lady got to the store only to see that the guy was not her dad. (I'll make a long story short) They wound up finding three lost old guys with alheizmers behind that store. One was her dad, one was from another town across the bay (Mobile) and one was from Arizona and had $1,800.00 cash in his pocket. This really happened.

The incompetence comes in not being able to be definitive about what areas were searched. If they were competent they would have a map detailing what exact areas were searched and what wasn't.

Then when bones are found later they would know whether or not they were their before because they would be able to cross reference to pictures taken of the search areas.

One would think that given they found the body that all the areas surrounding it would have been searched. The fact that it was inadequate is shown by them sending out folks to search again.

And all are now officers in the DC police department. I love happy endings.

Joyce Chiang and Christine Mirzayan, like Chandra Levy, petite brunette California Democrat (former) interns, died mysterious, unsolved deaths. Were they connected to Gary Condit?

Gary Condit's biggest expenditure for the first 6 months of 1999, was a payout of $10,000 to Mike Lynch on Feb 3, 1999, 25 days after Joyce Chiang vanished. Nothing else even comes close in $ amounts. $10,000 is such a nice even number too.
A poster at the ChandraLevy.com forum has found a good nugget of info -- Condit was in Spain in August 1998, according to this page - http://www.house.gov/agriculture/105/egysp.htm , and according to the Washington CityPaper article on dead California Democrat intern Joyce Chiang, she was in Spain some time in 1998 too!

And: the Chiang trip to Spain was definitely also in August, 1998.

And: $10,000 was paid to Mike Dayton shortly after Chandra's death. That was also the sum that was offered by Condit the minute Mrs Levy expressed concern about Chandra's well-being. He also began speaking of Chandra in the past tense, this on 5-5-01 before the Levys even were sure anything was wrong!

Now answer me this: who was paid $10,000 in July 1997 after Modafferi vanished on June 23 of that year? Where were Carolyn and Cadee on that date?

Q What do Chiang and Modafferi have in common? A. Both were in intense conversation with a frowzy blonde when last seen alive.

They say there may be a serial killer in the area. I think we know who that might be.
Joyce Chiang and Chandra Levy both worked in the office next to Condit.
Do you know where Christine Mirzayan worked?

OMG!

Christine Mirzayan was an intern in the second year of the internship program working for the Commission on Science, Mathematics, and Engineering Education (CSMEE). She had recently finished her Ph.D. from the University of California in San Francisco and had been selected as a 1998 American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Congressional fellow.

At UCSF, her research focused on the development of the vertebrate nervous system. In particular, she analyzed the molecular mechanism by which diffusible cues guide the migration of developing axons. While at UCSF, she found that although she enjoyed basic research, she was increasingly interested in the role that science plays in society and looked forward to a career that would allow her to utilize her scientific knowledge to address the political and social problems facing our nation.

Tragically, she was unable to reach that goal when she lost her life during the last week of the internship program. The National Academy of Sciences has named the internship program in her honor.

As has been pointed out on other threads, the nearest road is up a steep hill, there is not place to stop, and the traffic moves fast. When the crooks found out that the money was unspendable, and was good only as evidence against them, they undoubtedly just tossed it out of the window as they drove by.
