Thanks for the Cattle
This site is inspired by Press accounts about the Masai village in southern Kenya who donate 14 head of cattle to the US in sorrow over the 9/11 attacks.
This is a place where you can say 'thanks' to the villagers who made the donation.
I don't have any elite connections in Kenya, but I did spend half a year there studying, and so I know more about the 'harambee' spirit and I'm reasonably sure I can get a note to some folks in the 'mara out sooner or later.
I'm willing to pay the postage sending this if it ends up being a few (or a few dozen) pages, so let's give it a try and see where it goes.
'I know that for the Massai people the cow is valued above all possessions and the gift of a cow is the highest expression of regard and sympathy.'

The measure of a gift is often the sacrifice that giver is willing to put forth.
Although the cows will be sold regionally by the US and the money used to buy beads for the local economy, this is a good way to thank them.
And perhaps we can buy some beads ourselves, or save the cattle have them graze at the White House or the WTC center when the grass grows again.

The Masai do not easily part with cows. In fact, their religion teaches that all the cows in the world belong to them.
That just shows that this is a very significant gift.

all the cows in the world belong to them. All the cows in the world are belong to them?

ROFLMAO --- I knew that was coming!

An incredibly touching gift. I would imagine the cows are sacred to them because the Masai regions can't have a lot of food as we do here. Or are the cattle to them like currency? BTW: Don't let the cows near California highways.
CHP Officers Shoot & Kill 6 Cows Grazing Near HighwayNot everyone respects COWS. Keeping them on the White House lawn might be the best thing for them.
I'd like to personally make a gift of 1,000,000 pigs to the terrorists & their supporters.

And retiring them to the Crawford Ranch after the White House ceremony-what an idea!

It would certainly make PETA happy, right? And what a PR event!

I say when we catch Osama, we take him to pay Oltetia a visit.
[T]he village's chief warrior a man named Oltetia said: "That guy [bin Laden] surely we would have to kill him. We as the Masai have ways to kill, just using a spear and bows and arrows. He is a strong man so we couldn't do it directly. We would surround him in the bush."

Graze them on the lawn outside the Pentagon with 5 armed guards (one from each branch of service).

I agree that this is a touching gift; which should be appreciated in the spirit in which it was offered.
May these good people succeed in preserving their good and decent ways in the face of World Socialists bent upon submerging them in the human sea of an undiffentiated humanity. There is no real place for decency and kindness in a Socialist World, where everything is directed from above.

What a great quote maybe we can take Osama down for a visit to the Masai after he is caught..

And retiring them to the Crawford Ranch after the White House ceremony-what an idea! I like it ..
These gifts from The Masai Tribe may seem small to some folks ... but it is usually the small things in life that mean so much
This was a gift that came straight from the heart
