SAN DIEGO, May 25 (UPI) -- An Internet investment adviser charged with insider trading was being held without bail on a parole violation Saturday after federal prosecutors in San Diego raised questions about a stock-sales order he placed the day before the September terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon.
Amir "Anthony" Elgindy, 34, of Encinitas, faces charges in New York of allegedly taking part in a stock manipulation and extortion scheme with four other people, including two current and former FBI agents. Prosecutors, however, raised questions during a detention hearing Friday about what he might have known about the deadly attacks.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Ken Breen argued that Elgindy, a native of Egypt who now lives in a $2.2 million home in an upscale beach community north of San Diego, had ordered the sale of $300,000 worth of stock in his children's trust fund on Sept. 10, and at the same time had told a stockbroker that he was expecting an imminent drop of some 3,000 points on the stock market.
Says, "Hello, Mrs. Clinton."
Tablecloth-cranium enabled?
She still raises a few eyebrows when she goes out shooting with me and the boys, however, so don't feel too sorry for me...
Looking to lose your equipment, and cut me a break? :o)

Feeling sorry for you has never even crossed my mind. :o) You have a charmed life!
Yes, I do lead a charmed life but the old saying "From those whom much is given, much is expected" keeps worrying the crap out of me...
I'll take the regulators. :o)

Heh. While I'm not in your economic rung, things are on the upswing drastically, and now I too am wondering when the Reality Reaper will come calling.
Life is good!
That brings back memories. I used to teach scuba diving. I get terribly seasick, so I would go down below and sleep until we arrived at our dive spot. I'd be suited up and in the water almost before the anchor hit the bottom. Everyone thought I was very enthusiastic about diving. Truth was, the seasickness went away the moment I hit the water.
Do you know how the FBI was created, and how their mission was perverted by J. Edgar Hoover? Do a little research on the net, it should be all quite neatly documented.
FBI dossiers on people are filled with uncorroberated 'facts' and rife with rumors. Clinton used these files to blackmail his political opponents, both inside and outside his party.
The FBI has a noble and somberly-stated mission. It is a damn shame they never lived up to it, but instead became a political tool to be employed against ones opponents. I'm sure that FBI agents go in with the best of intentions, but the fact is that the FBI and the KGB have more in common than the FBI and the CIA.
Yet the fault they FBI for not being more like the KGB. Go figure.
Don't you mean "Get out the Rope"?
Right! If this guy was such a "stock operator", he would have been short up the wazoo. The fact that he wasn't says he didn't really know anything substantial.
This guy is probably just a gold-bug or something. You hear "Sell everything, the sky is going to fall." about once a week out there.
