Three men arrested after suspicious activity at Easton (Connecticut) reservoir

(Easton-AP May 17, 2002 7:25 AM)_ Three men who are described as being of middle-eastern descent have been arrested after suspicious activity at a reservoir in Easton.

Easton police got a call about seven-thirty last night that three men were spotted on top of a supply tank of the Easton Reservoir Filtration Plant.

One of the men was reportedly using a video camera to film the area around the plant and the reservoir dam.

The three were taken into custody and charged with trespassing.

Easton police chief John Solomon says because of the heightened state of security for reservoirs, the FBI and state emergency officials were notified.

Easton is a very small town in Fairfield County, CT (southwest in the state, near New York City).

You lived in Trumbull, too?!? Good grief, hope you don't think I'm stalking you! : )

I was in Westport for 9 years, Trumbull for 9 years, Indiana for college and now down here.

Depending on what age you were in Trumbull, you know the Easton resevoir used to be a big make-out spot in our day. When we were in school, we'd simply head out there (or Old Mine Park [pre-Route 25]) for privacy. We also used to go out there and hike, climb and other things with our group of buddies. There were areas where you could find the remains of colonial homes and their stone foundations by the side of the water. I loved that place dearly. It was a gorgeous area. Now you can't get near it with the armed patrols that have been there for close to 10 years now. You can't even sit by the side without being chased off.

Sad to think those days are gone but these are different times.

I lived on Pinewood Lake as an adult so the "parking" areas were in Easton were not known to me1

OTOH, I could point the apple orchards down in the Freehold, New Jersey area that were primo makeout spots.

That whole area of CT is just so beautiful compared to our flat stuff here in Boca.

They were homeless and wanted a drink of water, according to Easton Police Chief, I.P. Daley.

The three men were taken by limo to a nearby Marriot for lodging.

Meanwhile, police are checking on a tip from them that The Boy Scouts were behind 9/11.

Really...I think you guys are being a little to light on the punishment. Here's my take:

1. Break each one of their right foot
2. Wait 6 weeks for it to heal
3. Break the left foot
4. Wait 6 weeks for it to heal
5. Break (or, preferrably "chip) both kneecaps
6. Break the right collar bone and shoulder blade
7. Remove both finger and toe nails..."heal" with hydrochloric acid
8. Cut both thumbs off
9. Cut both big toes off
10. Place head in vise, tighten
11. Shoot one round through each hand (9mm)
    After all information has been solicited...
12. More thumbscrews
13. Shoot in back of head, left to rot in sun

I guess 13 wasn't their lucky number!?

I think that would be a fairly impressive to ensure that these sons-a-bitches experience some of the pain that 3,000 Americans suffered on 9/11.

even a blind pig finds an acorn now and then, and yeah, they probably are released by now. also, they wont be charged with anything big, but you get stopped for dui or some similar thing, and your ass will fry.
