I've been reading many interesting discussions concerning women in the military on these boards, but there is one subject that has been little mentioned. I'd like to get some comments on that.
Just so that's clear: I'm against women in the military (in combat positions, at least, but I suppose most positions in the military will become combat positions during a conflict). I agree what has been said about women lacking the necessary physical strength and endurance, being more prone to injuries, disrupting unit cohesion, not being mentally suited for combat and so on.
But, many people say, if a woman can perform as well as a man, shouldn't she then be allowed to serve where she pleases. I still say no. And now we're getting to the point of this post:
I am (both as a Christian and as a man) thoroughly convinced that men should protect and cherish women, and that any man who would willingly send a woman to fight in his stead is a criminal.
Since this view (as far as I can see) hasn't come up too often in the debate over whether women should serve in the military or not, I'm starting to wonder if I'm the only person left on the planet who thinks this is a good principle. Ladies and gentlemen, what are your opinions on this matter?
Best regards, Garegaupa
When our son reached the age that he was conscience of vocal differences between his Mother and me(arguments)I always reminded him to believe she was to be given deference to since there was no need to decide who was right or wrong and that she was never to feel ganged up on.
We have been married 53 years and I have never felt at any time she did not deserve all my protection and was always entitled to all I could do for her.
A woman, in my opinion, is God's greatest creation and precious beyond expression.
Why haven't more countries picked fights with the USA? It is because of our strength; we could crush them. When Bill Clinton bluffed and blustered, when he sat back in his easy chair in the Oval Office getting oral sex while naval vessels launched million-dollar cruise missiles at aspirin factories -- the USA failed politically.
When Bill Clinton failed to respond to the amubushing of the USS COLE, when he failed to respond to any other terrism except to pass more restrictive socialist laws on law-abiding Americans, Bill Clinton personally encouraged the attack of 9/11. That is how he failed politically on 9/11. And since he was the duly-elected Executive Officer of the United States, we all failed politically on 9/11.
Our enemies respected President Reagan and took him seriously. Bill Clinton was seen as a joke overseas. He failed to project US military might and he failed to deter out enemies through his personal weakness, cowardice and duplicity.
Any other questions?
Get off the fence. Do you want women to be wounded, killed and raped in combat? Yes or no?
You just can not stop calling people names can you?
Recess over. Time to be a good boy.
Admit it. You are attracted to me. Your homophobia can not let you admit I am male.
Over and out.
