This is a discussion thread for "The Radio Factor," which debuts today. What do you folks think?
Yes, he's been in the business for many years, but he's so brain-fried that he probably can't remember what he did last week.
I happened to catch his show this morning and heard him talk about how Paul Begala was a "shameless Clinton butt-boy" and then he went on about what a great guy James Carville is. Go figure.
Remember the commercial "This is your brain fried on drugs"?
Your attitude is unnecessary. I've listened to Bob Grant for 20 yrs. When Disney fired him from WABC, WOR hired him and gave him Jay Severin's time slot. Remember when Bob used to call Dinken's the Men's Room Attendant and would call out to Mario Cuomo in Italian? How about the diner in Woodbridge that Bob likes?
I also listen to Sean Hannity when Bob's rudeness goes over the edge. There's Heather and Flipper and interviews with morons on the street who don't know who the vice-president is. Also, sometimes I listen to Jeff Katz on WPHT on 1210 AM in Phila.
I was listening the day Lynne Samuels got fired years ago when she refused to share her morning show. Anything else you need to know?
Evidently you are obsessed with this comment that I made which was for the benefit of everyone around this large country who now have the possibility of choosing between Rush and O'Reilly in their town. I, of course, was aware that Grant and Hannity have been on against each other in NY.

I gotta ask ya, do *you* remember the commercial?
I was listening to Imus too this morning, and how you can possibly get that Imus was going on about how great Car-vile is, after I heard them all laughing about how Car-vile was probably under Clinton's desk pushing Monica out of the way, amazes me.
I remember the commercial. It went, "This is your brain. This is your brain on drugs. Any questions?"
" GET OFF MY PHOOOOOOOOOOOOONE " !
Okay, you proved your point, and I retract what I said. :-) I only mistook your point, because you replied that way to me and I didn't take it as an open post to the thread. That's the problem with just reading words on a screen. You assumed that I was being sarcastic ( I wasn't, and do post the required /sacasm , when I am being so ), and I assumed that yu were directing your answer to me only.
I've listened to Grant, on and off since the late '60's. After he went to WOR, he lost his touch. They cowed him into that, with the NEW YORK MAGAZINE trap / debacle.
Lynn Samuels and her nails on the blackboard voice. OUCH ! I used to love the WABC Roundtable, when they had Curtis and Sean and Steve et al against Lynn. The only time, that a show was ALL Conservatives, against a Liberal. : - )
You really think that O'Reilly is going to make it, up against Sean ? Even Bob Grant couldn't keep up in the ratings war.
I apologize a ca guy - my response is not really to your thread, but one on the first page.
I also have been turned off by Rush's Bush bashing lately. What he fails to consider is that the leaks, rumors of splits in the Bush administration, etc., etc. are the handiwork of the Clinton holdovers at State and DOD and other government agencies. Is it Bush's fault that they are still there - yes. Unfortunately the liberal media is all too willing to print any and all comments - true or not - that are passed to them by these Clinton-lovers. The media can then say comments are from "un-named source at DOD or State" making it sound as if the current administration's people are saying it. I sent an email to Rush about this issue - he has chosen to ignore it. But then I've also bombarded the WH and RNC about the need to weed out Clinton shills - and that's been ignored also.
Thanks for retracting.
Yes, I think O'Reilly can do well with people looking for a diversion at the current time. (That includes me.) If you happened to see him talking to students at Harvard, he was excellent. O'Reilly gave them a needed dose of conservatism, as well as common sense. Too bad he can't go up against Rush in NY since, in my opinion, Rush is having a problem with repetition.
He pushed out Eagan and Braude? Woooeee!
I heckled him at a debate back in the Prop 2-1/2 days. He was debating a CLT rep in Framingham. The hall was packed with students from Framingham State. You only live once.
Rush , IMHO, lost it , long ago. I to, would much rather that Bill was against him, instead of Sean.
Yes, I saw Bill V Harvard. He was fantastic; the best I have ever seen him. The problem is, and it is a huge problem, that was an exception ; O'Reilly hasn't ever been that good. His radio show is boring . Take the worst of Rush's arrogance and pomposity, mix in a pinch of the old Donahue , and stir in some Jerry Springer ( what was with the stupid advice to the terminally stupid ? ), and that is supposed to be a Conservative ( which O'Reilly isn't much of ) alternative ? No thanks; I'll take Sean.
You do know, don't you, that Bob Grant had much lower ratings than Hannity ; right ? Now, as I have repeatedly said Grant was an institution. Is O'Reily ? Hardy. Only time will tell what will happen. : - )
O'Reilly does a good TV show. To be honest, I don't know when I can get the chance to listen to bill. I much rather listen to Rush since I can catch O'R on the tele-.
