There obviously needs to be higher standards in law enforcement and in education.
A lot of blame must rest with the hiring, training and management.

I will bet dollars to doughnuts that this idiot officer(?)didn't know that there's no magazine disconnector on a Glock.Learning the function of your weapon is too difficult nowadays.When I first started out,it was optional to carry single action automatics on my job-I did so for years.Later on they were banned because the bright young people we were getting just couldn't be trusted to carry one without being a menace.If this woman had been White,Sharpton would have already incited a riot.Thank God the child wasn't more seriously injured or killed.Calling this woman a retard would be an insult to mentally retarded citizens.I own a Browning Hi-Power and a Colt Officer's Model-both seem remarkably similar except the Browning won't fire with the magazine out and the Colt will;S&W autos won't fire with the magazine out,but Sig-Sauers will-if this is all too difficult to learn,don't take a job where carrying a firearm is a requirement.

I'm all for rooting bad cops out regardless of race and I don't think hiring standards should be lowered because of race. Make everyone meet the same reasonable standards. It's really that simple.

For me?
The question then becomes, "Why didn't Nick Stix simply come out & say that?"
