Since the writer strikes me as someone trying very hard to dance around the truth of the matter?
Permit me to cut right to the chase, & translate this statement the way I'd like to have read it, OK?
Ol' Nick Stix makes the statement, "In a world of defined-down standards"...
Actually says;
"They'll hang a badge on just about anyone whether they're qualified & competent or not simply to satisfy a Liberally-inspired utopian head-count requirement; so, given the maniacs sporting badges, how is it we're not seeing a hell of a lot more of this kind of screw-up?"
For me?
The question then becomes, "Why didn't Nick Stix simply come out & say that?"
After all, isn't that really what everyone's honestly thinking?
Liberal PC double-speak is going to continue to get us into some seriously woeful trouble; &, it really isn't going to get any better left to its own devise, either.
...but there's always hope; because, it's never too late to change.
My hunch, as to why we don't see more such screw-ups, is that folks like Officer Carter-Morange studiously avoid situations, in which they might have to draw their weapon. And when that doesn't work, there are always helpful media persons to clean up the mess.
Some years ago there was a brief scandal in the Chicago PD. They were hiring police officers based on racial quotas. Hispanic officers were found to be members of some of the most notorious street gangs in the city. It was a big story for a while and then just "went away."
