MCRGO Annual Membership Meeting

The MCRGO 2002 Annual Membership meeting will be special this year. The meeting will start at 7:00 p.m. on June 1st at the Lansing Center in downtown Lansing. Our guest speaker is Wayne Lapierre, Executive Vice President of the National Rifle Association.

Seating is limited so watch for your personal invitation and plan on attending. Those that attended last year had a great time and some even walked away with brand new firearms from our many raffles and auctions. We plan on doing that again this year so bring some extra cash and help MCRGO in its fight to preserve your firearms rights in Michigan.

There are many nice hotels nearby as well as ample parking all around the Lansing Center itself. Details and directions will be included in the invitations.

This is a little different than last year.

1. this is an invitation only meeting, open to members. We expect 1300 people there. I plan on getting my ticket as soon as I get my invite since this will go fast.

2. if you want an invite, please join MCRGO as soon as possible. I can't gaurantee an invite, but you'll be joining the best pro-2a group around, and you may get one. Everything will depend on space. If the place is filled up, we can't let people in. We'll do our best to make sure everyone possible can get in.

3. We've gone a long way in 6 years. We started out at the Chief Okemos conference room, barely getting enough people there to look good. Last year, we overfilled the East Lansing Marriot with Massad Ayoob as our keynote speaker. We also had gun auctions, and several gun raffles, including glocks. About half of the people there won prizes....(I didn't..although that's better than a trigger lock).

4. The bad news. Ticket will PROBABLY be around ($30) which is a little expensive. It's still cheaper than the Anti-gunner prices. This year we will be having a dinner as well(unlike last year). It's definatly worth it, and I would have paid $30 for last years annual. Bring a lot more than $30 because there are some good raffles and auctions as well.

5. There will probably be a shooting event earlier in the day as well. That's in the early planning stages right now. I'll post info on that.

I hope to see all Freeper MCRGO members there.

Want to make this a real success?

Invite the "mainstream" media - and have as prominent guest speakers women stalking victims who were let down by the police, courts, or 911 operators. Especially have as prominent guest speakers women stalking victims who followed the feminist line of getting "protective orders" that turned out to be worthless when stalker ex-boyfriends or ex-husbands showed up at 2:00 A.M. on a Saturday night.

Turning gun rights into a "women's rights" issue makes it undefeatable.

GUN REVIEWS free from ad-money bias - emphasizing woman-friendliness of tested guns!

One of our members became pro-2a partly because of her past experiences. She'll probably have a speaking role there too if she wants it.

Also, one of our state reps, Sue Tabor always sells CPL(CCW) as a woman's issue as well for self defense. She's one of our best allies, if not THE best in the legislature. She has one term left in the state house and it running again...ironically possibly against a DU'er.
