Creationist Site Says: "Mac Users, You Are Godless Communists!"
TheMacObserver ^ | 4/23/02 | Raena Armitage

Posted on 04/23/2002 7:45:18 PM PDT by ppaul

Repent, sinners. Your Macintosh is a tool to promote Godless Communism and anti-Creationist "propaganda", according to an article at OBJECTIVE: Christian Ministries. Dr. Richard Paley, apparently "a teacher of Divinity and Theobiology at Fellowship University," starts out with discussions of the PBS series Evolution and Pokemon, and goes on to say:

However, these propagandists aren't just targeting the young. Take for example Apple Computers, makers of the popular Macintosh line of computers. The real operating system hiding under the newest version of the Macintosh operating system (MacOS X) is called... Darwin! That's right, new Macs are based on Darwinism! While they currently don't advertise this fact to consumers, it is well known among the computer elite, who are mostly Atheists and Pagans. Furthermore, the Darwin OS is released under an "Open Source" license, which is just another name for Communism. They try to hide all of this under a facade of shiny, "lickable" buttons, but the truth has finally come out: Apple Computers promote Godless Darwinism and Communism.

Later additions to this article say:

It has been brought to my attention that the Darwin OS mentioned above now has a cartoon mascot (no doubt to influence children) named Hexley (pictured above) -- a platypus dressed as a devil who performs occult magic, i.e. hexes. They're not doing a very good job keeping their ties to the forces of darkness a secret, are they? (snip)

More clues have come in showing the dark nature of Apple Computers. According to one of our readers, the new MacOS X contains another Satanic holdover from the "BSD Unix" OS mentioned above; to open up certain locked files one has to run a program much like the DOS prompt in Microsoft Windows and type in a secret code: "chmod 666". What other horrors lurk in this thing?

Check out the full article for yourself.

Or maybe they wean themselves away from slow, clunky pointandclick and learn to use that outdated, flat thing with all the numbers and letters on the buttons. Copy, cut, paste = Ctrl-C, Ctrl-X, Crtl-V.

(Wanna have some real fun? Show 'em a DVORTY board and watch their brains melt.)

I know buying a new mouse is simple... Can you actually USE a more-than-one-button mouse on a Mac these days? I mean, I always figured the one mouse button told you something about Apple's estimation of the average intelligence of the companys clientelle and it wasn't obvious they'd make any sort of an allowance for potential future upgrades...

I use a Mac at work, and I think it's 1000% better than a PC.

That said, I think PC's will remain competitive for YEARS to come, because they're generally cheaper than Macs. This is because, of course, they're an inferior product, but most consumers don't care if Macs can perform a set of 20 tasks on Photoshop better than a P.C; most consumers of computers just want something that's "ok" at working, (i.e., won't crash MUCH), and is cheap.

Hence the reason for the P.C.'s survival.

Arrogant bastards,

I'm not Godless, I'm not a communist, and I'm not a Mac-user.

That includes entire nations like India and Russia with huge pools of programming talent who simply cannot afford to be sending Gates and Co. an extra two hundred dollars every time they turn around.

Too bad for them.
They cannot afford the best software.
Oh well, that means we'll keep our competitive edge for awhile.

Too bad for them. They cannot afford the best software. Oh well, that means we'll keep our competitive edge for awhile.

Consider, that IBM had a fully functional 32-bit OS with a good 32-bit presentation manager in 1992. Gates and Company, knowing it would be four years (summer of 96, NT 4) before they had anything comparable, told all the software houses in America that if they wrote software for OS2, they'd be out of the loop; they would not have the necessary information to write for 32-bit windows, WHEN it arrived. Unfortunately, everybody pretty much caved.

The problem: the next time America has to wait four years for Msoft to catch up, it might be Japan Inc. or somebody in India who catches up.

Other than that, the notion of calling msoft software "the best" is idiotic. Msoft locks up 80% market shares with a combination of third-rate software and fascist marketing.

Smart marketing, actually.
That's why they're Numero Uno and nobody even comes close.
It's the American Way.
What's wrong with that?
Oh, I know, I know - "it's not fair!"

:

* Chevys and Fords outsell BMW's - always will.
But any BMW owner will consider Chevys and Fords "third-rate".
Who cares?

Here is how I came to conclusion that macs are made for stupid people. I did some work on a mac and saved it to floppy. Then I tried to figure out how to eject the disk. Lets see, I can’t just right click on the icon and choose the “EJECT” option- only one mouse button. I finally had to ask someone for help. “Just drop the disk icon into the trashcan.” Sure enough, that is how to eject the disk! What is the thought process expected here for someone figuring out the system for the first time? “Oh lets see what happens if I drop my critical files into the trashcan icon, maybe that will eject the disk with my files intact.”

Well I'm not a girly-man. I'm a woman. Apparently you don't think that women use computers.

These letters you now ponder were typed on a Mac, specifically the G4 733 mhz mode. Mac's rule!

Will you marry me?
