I've kept both my old KayPro computers just in case this IBM/Windows thing doesn't pan out.

Does ammo count? Hahaha.

Heh heh.....I called a friend of mine at about 9am on Jan 1st, 2000. He was a "the world is coming to an end" Y2Ker. I asked him what he was going to do with all that creamed corn. He didn't speak to me for a month.

Just yesterday, I loaded the van with our surplus canned goods and drove to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
(The van came in handy, as there were a lot of cans.)
Still have 100+ gallons of bottled water and lots and lots of ammo :-). Will keep a small portable water still which I have never used.

I am sorry, but I am unwilling to share. We dodged the bullet with Y2K and didn't need to use the emergency plans/supplies we had put in place. We won't be so lucky the next time. I'm sure Gore and the democraps will critcize Bush, and rightfully so, for his failure to even adress the crisis looming in front of us, Y3K! Sure, it is a while off but none of the computers are ready. No, I'm keeping my water, toilet paper and ammo, the reality of the Y3K worldwide disaster is now less than 400,000 days away. You've been warned.

Still have all of it.
Periodically check for 'use by' dates.
Of course this is earthquake country, so we need to be prepared at all times.

Candles are all that are left from Y2K. The 911 stash is pretty good, even though I'm eating my way through the expiration dates. I need to beging replinishing the stock soon.
BTW, I want to thank all the advocates of BLOAT. I've taken that advise and now I'm ready to rock. There is a certain peace of mind that comes from preparing.

My wife and I have finally worked our way through our stock of white gas, works great for lighting the grill!

We purchased foodstocks on the basis of turn-over. We use the food as we would any other food and it has worked just fine. We have some surplus of water but that's about it.
To: MomwithHope
With earth quakes, riots and power shortages why use up your stores? Just keep rotating the dates.
I always told people that Y2K was like an earthquake that you knew was coming on a specific date. Turned out there was no damage and now we are ready for the next one.
I didn't buy anything that was wasted.

Put a few cases of this in the bunker and you won't want Y2K to be ending anytime soon. Delicious with Carr's Table Water crackers.

Gosh I have nothing left. All I bought was a couple of cans of Spam & I donated them to the food drive at church. I am really glad Y2K was a bust, I hate Spam.

I haven't quite finished the bottle of scotch I bought to ring in Y2K with... champaigne is so passe. Other than that, being a computer industry insider, I had complete confidence that everything would be fine. Of course in the mid-90s my state (AZ) went to 25 year drivers licenses, with the expiration date porperly printed on them. When discussing the "issue" with people who were afraid I would dramatically toss down my drivers license on the table with the line "look if DMV can get it right just how hard can it be?", that usually stopped them in their tracks.

Got a case of kidney beans, a case of chili, some vegetables, and 50 pounds each of rolled oats and raw red winter wheat. Oh. And a couple of 5-gallon pails full of various dehydrated fruits and vegetables I had a blast making. (Not to mention a GALLON of shampoo I haven't even gotten around to dusting yet...)

The only thing I have left from midnight Jan. 1 2000 are some empty beer bottles under the sink which were consumed while celebrating.
