Daschle Says U.S. Must Support Israel
New York Times ^

Posted on 04/22/2002 4:18:23 PM PDT by hawaiian

Get a load of this article with Dash-hole, severely in 'moonwalk' mode, trying to tell pro-Israel groups that he and the Dems will support Israel. After all the pro-Palestinian rallies and rabble-rousing, he's making himself look like an ass, just like Gore did today.

If you can tie US environmental groups to Arab oil money, then you have an argument that would seriously damage the tree huggers credibility. Do you, or anyone else out there have any solid evidence? Seems like a good line of research for somebody.

Re#37 Yep. May they continue to see the light--the 'Rats have used the unions far too long. Now the NEA, that one will stay in their camp forever...

Re#38 I understand your frustration. My optimism lies in some of the recent polls. But you are right--their blind allegiance is amazing. Hope nonetheless springs eternal...

Daschle Insists U.S. Should Support Israel

Dangit, now I have to reconsider my opinion on the matter... anytime I find myself agreeing with anything Daschle says, I have to wonder what's wrong with me.

The problem is getting the evidence. Their goals, (Opecker Princes, Rat Senators, and the enviralists) are the same: Limit exploration of new oil fields in America. That with just normal population growth increases our dependence on Opecker Oil each day/week/month/year.

Da$$hole and his fellow Rat senators stood together to block any drilling in ANWR. That helps the Opecker Princes and anyone who receives money from them. These Rat Senators have worked with the envirals since the 1970's to increase our dependence on Opecker Oil with blocking oil exploration, phoney conservation schemes and pushing screwy alternative energy plans (alternative energy=living in the dark with no power/gas/oil/fuel).

Eventually, this will come out, and the enviral groups will take a hammering. Of course never expect the Pro Islamic/Opecker media to investigate.

The answer to this is that every petro $ going to the Opecker Princes means we are dependent on Opec for prices and supplies. Then the Opecker Princes can then invest part of each petro $ in terrorism from OBL to Arafatty.

There are some simple questions to my answer above: Who/what has worked 24/7 to make us more dependent on Opecker oil since the 1970's. Then, why would they/the organizations do that? It boils down to money. Money from the Opecker Princes to win elections and keep the watermelon enviral organizations funded.

I heard - on Rush I think and other media - that the Israelies are required BY LAW that they have to use a great deal of that $$ to buy goods etc., from the USA. Not a bad deal for us I'd say.

By that logic, let's triple welfare payments to all current US recipients -- they'll spend it here. In fact, let's increase all entitlements to everyone, provided they spend it here.

Of course, no conservative would abide by that "logic."

I don't see why it suddenly seems to make sense with foreign aid.

That money that comes back to the US is a very important part of that aid. I would venture to state that most of that money never leaves the US. It buys merchandise here for use in Israel. Therefore it actually serves to spur our own economy here,

So let's invite 10 million foreigners to come visit the US, and give each one $100,000 grant -- provided they spend it here. That'd spur our economy, no?

This "logic" is one used by socialists for ALL entitlement programs. Welfare is good because it "spurs the economy." Of course, no conservative would accept such "logic" in most cases.

Is this optimal? No. Are there some positive aspects of it? Yes. Look, we have a $2 trillion dollar budget per year at least $300 billion of which we hand out to our laziest citizens for nothing. Israel doesn't merit a period on the end of the sentence that states we have a massive bleeding hemorage of expenditures. Should Israel's foreign aid be cut? Of course. Is it the crux of our problems? I think we both know the answer to that one.

I saw a report (and chart)on Fox showing "aid" (about $280M per year) to the UN for the Palestine "refugees". US contributes 30% and the combination of ALL Arab countries a TOTAL OF .05%!! Brit asked his guest if the Pali's knew the US contributed the most and he said "probably not".
