Freeper Help Needed

Asking for help from any Freepers familiar with Disney World in Florida and what facilities they may have for children with a fatal disease.

Abi is five years old and is very ill with metastatic neuroblastoma, an advanced form of childhood cancer. Her wish is to go to Disney World with all her little school mates. That's a toughie because of logistics and time. We are trying to at least get her, her mom and her brother to Disney World. Looks like this needs to happen pretty fast.

Anyone that has any knowledge of Disney World in Florida and what facilities they may have for dying children please FreepMail me.

They talked to Abi's mother a couple of weeks ago. The feedback I'm getting is that the mother thinks that Make-A-Wish will not move fast enough.

Abi lives in Houston, not FL. Just to clarify. We thought maybe Freepers in FL. would be more familiar with Disney World.

Go to newschannel2000.com and look for all of the contact numbers of the local tv stations there. I have worked in a newsroom setting. Call them up and tell them the story. They will get you entrance by this week if not immediately and do a story on the child. Blessings and good luck. The local media outlets WILL get this done.

I don't know if you're asking for help in arranging the trip (as Make a Wish), or how they would/could accomodate an ill or handicapped child. If it's the latter, I know they're wonderful in accomodating situations like this. I suspect if you called them at 407-WDW-MAGIC (939-6244) you'd be in touch with the right people rather quickly. I realize it's not the same, but they have a seperate web site for the disabled at http://disney.go.com/vacations/websites/disabilities/mk/interstitial.html

I just Freepmailed you. Thanks. We mainly need info. on Disney World Florida. We should have people working on this Monday. Knowing FreeRepublic I figured that maybe someone here knows about Disney's Florida facilities and maybe how they handle children in these situations.

Sorry, can't help you with info on Disney World. But I can offer my Prayers for Abi, God Bless her. I hope she has a wonderful time when she goes to Disney World!

Prayers are needed. We had a birthday party for her a couple of weeks ago. She really looked go compared to times in the past. She had a little bitty bit of hair and even took her hat off. We found out today that she has a spot on her lung. Things may change fast we have been told. Monday, if her counts are good, she may be able to come to school and see her old friends. We are going to have a "gradution ceremony" for her. Prayers are needed.

Check out this web site for Give Kids the World...they have a "village" located right next door to WDW. They make arrangements for the kids and family members and even arrange private meetings for the kids with Mickey etc. http://www.gktw.org/

Man, she is one courageous looking little girl...

I have a friend in Orlando, who might have some inside disney contacts. Will see what we can do...

Is she a Backstreet boys fan? This same friend built a Star Trek themed room in one of their houses, and might can arrange something.

The Ronald MacDonald House may have facilities in Florida near Disney World for the child and her parents to stay.

I know MacDonalds used to have a program to help terminal children and their parents a few years ago.

Try contacting MacDonalds corporation in Chicago for help-I bet they will help you.

The other organization that is wonderful for helping children in these situations is the Shriners. Be sure to contact them too.

There also used to be a national organization called the "Make a Wish Foundation" who secifically helped grant the wishes of terminal children. I bet you can find them through a yahoo search or contact your local TV station for help in finding how to contact the foundation.

I pray in Jesus Christ's Holy name that HE will intercede for this child and the family to perform a miracle to GOd's glory. I pray that God will emerse this child and the family in GOd's love and healing powers.

Someone needs to sing this song to the child :"Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so." Jesus has a special place in His heart for little children "for of such is the Kingdom of GOd".

Jesus has already prepared a place for this lovely child whether now, in the rapture or after the child has led a full and productive life in the Lord. God has many mansions in which Christ has gone to prepare a place for believers and for little children.
