[history]
On Wednesday, the Jerusalem-born actress objected tartly in the Harvard Crimson to law student Faisal Chaudhry's April 11 essay on U.S. policy concerning Israel and the Palestinians.
Portman continued: "Outrageous and untrue finger-pointing is a childish tactic that disregards the responsibility of all parties involved."

I am speechless: a Harvard-student/Hollywood actress siding with Israel.
And, I thought that she was beautiful before I read this article.

I had a crush on her way back in the Professional. Before you accuse me of being a Professor Humbert Humbert, I should inform you that me and Natalie are close in age.

I can understand why.
I must admit that I found her to be quite attractive in Episode I (I think she was only 16 or 17 during filming). Don't get the wrong idea, it wasn't a "hey little girl, you want some candy" thing; rather, I was genuinely taken by how attractive she was.
Now, to know that she might share some of the same philosophies that I believe in...that's a bonus.

I should also add that this might be the only issue that she has these somewhat conservative sentiments, but hey it is a shocker that she actually has spoken out about the issue.
Most of the self-hating Jews in Hollywood wouldn't dare say what she said.

Have you ever seen the full European cut of
Leon? Awsome movie.
~Someone a lot closer to Humbert's age.

SHE'S JEWISH?!
Speaks Hebrew fluently according to some of her PR stuff I just googled.
Trying to visualize Luke Skywalker singing "My Yiddisha Mama"...

Well, she is from Israel, although that doesn't mean much to some immigrants anymore. Note that the WashPost article leaves her real last name out...if you do a search on Google, you'll see why she changed her name to make it in Hollywood.

There's a guy called Ross Douthat who writes in the crimson (www.thecrimson.com) he's very conservative and very good. You should look him up.

But hey, talk about a catch. Beautiful, close to my age, Harvard-educated, shares views on Israel with me, and worth a truckload of money from Star Wars revenues.

Gawgess & smaht, Ms. Portman is.
When I saw her in Beautiful Girls, I knew she'd grow up to be a beautiful woman. Way to shoot down that Law School dope, Natalie.
To: mattdono
Ms Portman is virulently anti-gun.
It would be like supporting Drew Barrymore but I guess support for Israel tops everything among "conservatives".
To: Snake65
No, but I will try to find it!

Most of the self-hating Jews in Hollywood wouldn't dare say what she said. Not true. Hollywood is very pro-Israel, across the political spectrum.
Army Archerd writes a column for Daily Variety. Archerd is far left. He admired Jack Nicholson's compliments of Castro; and Archerd repeatedly attacked Elia Kazan for "naming names" when Kazan got his special Oscar a few years back; and Archerd's repeatedly attacked Charleton Heston for leading the NRA.
Yet Archerd is also extremely pro-Israel, and often quotes other pro-Israelis, like Barbara Streisand, Spielberg, and Harvey Weinstein (Streisand and Weinstein were both quoted as saying that they supported Gore partly because Gore was a better friend of Israel than Bush).
Hollywood is very pro-Israel, and very open about it.
