This special little ad -
appears in the April edition of "Working Mother" magazine, and probably a lot of other places. I saw it whilst flipping through the magazine at the optometrist's office.
The small print makes it "clear" that if your child visits another child whose family owns Evil Guns, they are at great risk. The little girl looks like she's been beaten, and she's "dressed appropriately" in body armor for visiting those friends whose family owns guns.
This blatant and disgusting propaganda is sponsored by Asking Saves Kids You might want to visit their website and/or email them at staff@paxusa.com or staff@pax.com. You can call them at 212-983-8705.
This is pathetic.
A lot of us have fun with the idea of anti-gunners putting "gun-free home" signs on their lawns or in the windows of their homes - these geniuses at PAX actually had the signs, I got a bunch of them at a meeting a couple of years ago. They used to have them available through their website, but they've been "undergoing renovations" for quite some time now and don't have 'em up there, otherwise I'd happily link it. ;-)
Bloody great cheap shot, eh?
Yes, I have grown quite fond of it.
You're familiar with Arthur Kellerman, namesake of the famous study that the anti's quote unashamedly to this day (you're 43 times more likely blah blah blah), DESPITE the fact a congressional committee found that Kellerman manipulated his research toward an intended result - to discredit gun owners and encourage more gov't regulation. Why was a congressional committee investigating him? Because he was working through the Centers for Disease Control, which is funded by US taxpayer $'s. Congress ended up de-funding the CDC as a result. Read more here and here for starters.)
The whole damn study is bogus, it's gospel with anti's and media, and WE all paid for it.

Its liable to get worse. PETA has to resort to poor taste to get any attention at all. Once the antigunners see how bad this flops they will stoop lower.
I know - that was mentioned on another forum as well. The poster suggested a photo of a little girl with a snorkel :)
LOL - nope, I don't much care about the magazine itself. I'm more concerned about the group placing the ad(s).
Do zebras have stripes?
Good point, btw...
