Mr_Magoo, my father's ashes are in Arlington. Taps gets me everytime. I held it together at the funeral until they played Taps and then I lost it. I couldn't get your link to work and that's probably a good thing. I'll bow my head in silence for those who lost their lives protecting my speech, my freedom to worship God, my family and my country. Praise God and may he bless our country and watch over our military. Lord, after they have done their job, please bring them home alive and in one piece.

Hi Spooky! Hope you are feeling better! I agree, I've been to (sadly) alot of funerals with military honors and taps is always heartbreakingly beautiful.

Please join me in the Lounge for a toast to our Fathers.
Taps no longer brings tears because of something I read once. It was at the funeral of (I think) Winston Churchill. In the Cathedril at one point in the Service, they played Taps from the Balcony in the rear. As the last note faded into silence, from the front Balcony a Bulgler belted out Revellie. (pardon me, my spelling sucks)The point was, it is not an end- but a beginning.
A Toast: To their New Beginnings!

Bless you and your family - Taps should "get" each & everyone of us, every time we hear it played, it surely does get me. JL
