This MORON moves to Michigan from Texas not to find a job, BUT GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE!! Bwaahahahahahah!
...and yes, Disabled men in Michigan face was the actual title of the article. I guess the author couldn't find enough "assistance" to finish it!

I say we move to Texas.

Ok, I want to place my bet here, but I was roundly criticised last bet by several of the truly sensitive folks who read this list and point out the wrong thinkers among us. So let's bet this way.
I'm betting that this poor guy has the absolute right to live and work in America; that he is not an illegal alien and WAS born and raised here in the US of A; and that there is no place in another country that he truly calls home.

Ha, ha, ha! The damned moocher couldn't get his head in the trough in Texas, so he went up north to test the water and found it just as cold! GOOD! I used to deal with people like this guy on a daily basis-it is the reason I went back to construction, and will never be a casemanager again. There are literally dozens of jobs that do not require a great deal of education or lifting in excess of 20 lbs. Cashier and counter clerk come to mind-and if an individual is unable to stand for long periods, this limitation can be accommodated by providing a chair or stool. I just hope this person does not come back to Texas.

Let's write an article about an oddesy to find the perfect welfare state.
We'll make the lead character an illegal alien who claims unprovable physical disabilities and follow his attempts to dupe the system.

There is a time and place for assistance to people who truly are unable to work if the disability is not their fault. Each case should be judged on a case-to-case basis. We should not provide support for people who are able to work. "we," at times, get too hard or too dispassionate, and say that there is no reason for welfare. But a humane society should have some provisions for truly needy cases.

I stopped doing medical disability exams because of the large number of fakers. He can't lift over 20 pounds? How about answering phones, being a nightwatchman, parking lot attendant, light assembly line work (seated), etc, etc,... There's plenty of jobs that don't require lifting, standing, or even much memory for that matter.
As we all know, most of these people don't want to work, they want handouts. If he tried as hard at a job as he does at trying to get freebies he'd get a promotion wherever he worked!
And how about this line from the article:
"several work-related accidents suffered in recent years."
Now tell me, who has "several" work related accidents over just a few years? He just manages to find some poor sucker to give him a job for a few days and then probably fakes an injury and tries to get workers compensation. Sheesh, these people irk me.

For now, Leija spends most of his days riding public buses trying to find someone or some agency that can help him. But his memory lapses often get the best of him, and he fears what the future will hold. "I get on the bus and get downtown and I forget what to do," he said. He remembered enough to get his butt from Texas to Michigan.

A lot of these people dont want help, they want you to take care of all their bills.
There was a woman on the local news interviewed during the power crisis. At the time there was a program to help people pay their electricity bill. This wont cover my bill, says the old bag. Sheesh, its to HELP not to cover the entire thing.
I think that if these folks get any public assistance of any kind their name should be listed so they can be contacted to return the favor. They can come over and do a load of laundry, or wash the car, dishes I can find something for them to do.

"I get on the bus and get downtown and I forget what to do," he said. Hmmm, let's see. After waiting at the bus stop, he remembered to get on the bus going downtown. After getting on the bus, he remembered to get off the bus when it arrived downtown. So, why can't he remember to WRITE DOWN why he's getting on the bus to go downtown? Let me guess, then he would be unable to remember that he wrote something down and/or where he wrote it? Uh huh, sure.

Walk it off son... Go to Taxachusetts or something.
I'm sorry. I don't have a lot of sympathy when out of staters mover here to collect welfare paid for my Michigan tax dollars.
Boo hoo hoo is right.

Eric Glatz, a consumer relations advocate for Muskegon's Disability Awareness Center for Independent Living,...said "blahblahblah"...
Well, if Mr. Glatz is so ^$%$%%^&^& worried about the "disabled", why doesn't he resign and let Mr. Leija have his job?
That's the problem, all these dang "advocates" and "groups" that suck up so much money in taxes that there is NOTHING left in the economy to create low-level jobs for people like Leija to do.

Dude, this is HILARIOUS. This is a joke, right? This didn't really happen, did it? 'Leija' should be in a mental institution. And what about the 'journalist' that 'wrote' this. He should have his head examined! LOL

It seems nobody else thinks he's disabled but himself. Maybe he should be out looking for work, like everyone else.
You can fool the liberals, but you can't change the facts.
The guy is deemed employable. No freebies.

"I get on the bus and get downtown and I forget what to do," he said. Once he got downtown, he forgot to stay in Texas-- and he didn't remember to get off the bus, until he got to Michigan.

heck, i'm moving to texas. up here in new york, my ex hubbie is still on welfare (has been for the last 14 years and he is NOT disabled; a drunk, yes, but disabled, absolutely not!)
and as for a long application procedure, ex-hubby was practically rubber stamped in!
btw, guess who was supporting the family 14 years ago. . .
