LAST WEEKEND REPORT
Frank Kozlowski collected 128 signatures last weekend at Delray Fest. The popular annual event, now in its 40th year, attracted a throng of revellers who enthusiastically signed the term limits petition. Others working Delray Fest included Barb Susco, Lydia Walker, Ed McJobian, Daron Thompson and others. Bill Gorman worked the Palm Beach Gardens post office.
Evening on the Avenues was also a success, with a street booth set up outside Major O'Grady's Steakhouse at 612 Lake Avenue in downtown Lake Worth. "The Captain," as the proprietor is known, allowed us to drape our six-foot "Eight is Enough!" banner across his front window for the benefit of cars passing by. This booth was worked by Judi Ake and the Blumel family -- Sandra, Brian, George and Phil.
Also, Bill Hayes, Jack Starr and George and Philip Blumel worked the phones, calling potential supporters and inviting them to the April 17 event.
PLEASE SEND IN RSVPs!
We are working very hard on the April 17 event with Paul Jacob (for more info, see http://voices.freehosting.net ). Please attend. We believe that this event will decide whether or not this drive is successful. The volunteer side of this drive is doing great. The paid side is doing great also, but it can stop at any moment if we run out of money. Both have to keep up or even pick up the pace. With the deadline approaching, IF WE STOP FOR A WEEK WE ARE DEAD IN THE WATER. Please send in your RSVPs as soon as you can. Thank you.

SUGGESTIONS FROM THE FIELD...
The invaluable Frank Kozlowski offers some suggestions based on his Delray Affair experience:
"First, I have the yellow term limit signs on two clipboards, (and also carry two without) so I can be bold or discrete as the situation needs. I hold it the yellow signs facing the crowd.
"Sunday, I found it tougher, so I would engage everyone with 'Are you a Palm Beach voter?' and even before they could pass me by, I would say 'like to sign a term limits petition?' A few that walked by me suddenly came back, either the yellow sign or my saying term limits would cause them to walk back.
"Similarly, people really need big signs on tables. Make it easier for them. We both saw people in Boynton see our sign and come to the table on their own. Also hand outs need the red sticker saying VOTER REGISTRATION # NOT NEEDED!
"Finally, I intend to make a larger yellow sign maybe 14 X 20 that says term limits. The pig-petition people who have that sign that says ANIMAL PETITION do alot better then those who merely have the petitions in hand. I'll try to have some larger signs made up for those that want them."
Thanks, Frank.

There is also be a booth at the Gun Show at the South Florida fairgrounds Sat-Sun April 13-14. Then, April 15 is Tax Day, and we will be petitioning at post offices around the county. Then, of course, is our April 17 fundraiser.

FAXING WORKS! EMAIL WORKS!
We have tested the effectiveness of sending out the petition via fax and email to our personal fax and email lists and response is good. Please send out the petition via fax with a short note explaining what we are doing (feel free to cut and paste the one below). Or, send the same explanation with a link to the petition (found on radio-man Dick Farrel's website) at http://www.dickfarrel.com/pdf/petition.pdf. IMPORTANT: Don't send this only to political friends -- they have all already seen it and signed it. Send it clients, family, colleagues, vendors -- any probable voter in Palm Beach County. As any petitioner can attest, nearly everyone signs this friendly, non-partisan petition. Its up to us to put it in front of them.

VOLUNTEER NEEDED TO ORGANIZE TAX DAY petitioning. With so much going on next weekend, our usual coordinators all have their hands full.
Can someone volunteer to 1) find out which post offices in the county will have extended hours on Tax Day (probably two or three); 2) Find a minimum of two volunteers to work each post office that evening (there is always a big rush then); 3) find volunteers to work other post offices that day, if possible.
Call Phil at 254-8458.
Thanks!

PLEASE MAKE CHECKS PAYABLE TO: the "PBC Term Limits Committee" and mail to 316 N. Country Club Drive, Atlantis, FL 33462.

PAID POL ADV PAID FOR BY THE PB COUNTY TERM LIMITS COMMITTEE
This effort has been going on for over a year and the deadline, June 1 is very close.
The folks doing this are known to me and are good conservatives fighting the good fight here in PBC.
Let's help them out! Even if you are not a PBC voter, you probably know someone in PBC. Contact them.
Action Needed:
1. Make sure you and all your family, friends, colleagues & neighbors sign the petition!
2. Call & volunteer for the various activivites coming up. Important: Mention you are a Freeper!
3. Email all your lists this short message below.
Dear fellow Palm Beach County voter,
I am working with other volunteers to put a referndum on the ballot in November 2002 that would limit the terms of Palm Beach County commissioners to eight years in office, as is done in many other Florida counties.
To do this, we need 55,000 signatures from voters like you. So far, we have over 43,500, but the deadline is rapidly approaching. Please help!
Please sign the petition below and mail it in to the address at the bottom. Feel free to make extra copies for friends and family to sign, or pass it around your office for everyone to sign.
You don't need to fill in the Voter Registration or Precinct numbers, but birthdate is important.
Thanks for your help. For more info about this campaign, please call Philip Blumel at (561) 254-8458 or see http://voices.freehosting.net. Thanks!
Go to the left frame and scroll down. You will see both a .doc and a .pdf version. Just print it out!
The contact people for this petition are:
George Blumel or Philip Blumel

Remember to identify yourself as a Freeper!
Hey Oldtimer, looks like we both officially joined FR in February 1998!
BTW, your parents both live in Boca Raton.
Have you gotten them and their friends, neighbors...etc on board with the petition ?
BUMP!
