Servicemen Furious at Coddling of Terrorists
NEWSMAX ^ | 4/4/02 | Limbacher

American servicemen at Guantanamo Bay are so angry about the superior treatment given to the terrorist detainees that the military is sending in shrinks to try to prevent explosions of "inexplicable rage."

The al-Qaeda and Taliban fanatics at Camp X-Ray have received better treatment than the U.S. troops guarding and caring for them, despite all the whining from European and U.S. left-wingers, International Red Cross, United Nations and other blame-America-first types.

In fact, the Miami Herald reported today, the Muslim detainees:

"had two hot meals a day plus a cold lunch while the Marines and Army Military Police were eating field rations" from plastic packages.

enjoyed showers weeks earlier than the Americans, who had to make do with a garden hose.

scream at, spit on and hurl water at the servicemen, who are "working nearly nonstop."

''They did those atrocities to us, and we're treating them like royalty,'' fumed Marine Lance Cpl. Nathan Howell.

The Pentagon is suddenly concerned about its mistreatment of the servicemen. It fears they might "later explode with seemingly inexplicable rage - at their work or their families," the Herald reported.

The attempt at a solution: A special Navy psychiatric team is counseling and debriefing each of the estimated 1,000 Marines, soldiers and sailors at the compound.

''Many of them feel the detainees are being treated better than they are,'' said Cmdr. Karen Daly, a Navy psychiatrist and officer in charge of the Special Psychiatric Rapid Intervention Team, which has begun making rounds.

But our men and women in uniform are leery.

"Officially, the military culture embraces the concept of mental healthcare. But other parts of military culture teach people to button up their emotions and do their jobs," the Herald reported. "Daly said she learned since coming to the base that some Marines refer to psychiatrists as 'wizards' and caution each other, 'Never talk to a wizard.'"

Newsmax should give credit where credit is due; Brit Hume reported this tonight, practically word for word.

Note to the service: Stick your shrinks. This is worse than a "travesty".

Those bastards should be made to live miserable lives for what little time they have left on this Earth. I'm with the "grunts" on the ground on this one.

What sort of panty-waisted morons are running things in the military these days????????? Must be the ones who rose up rapidly in Clinton's Military.

Why not rotate these guys over to Iraq and let them take it out on Saddam?

Not to suggest anything, but this could be taken care of in about 15 minutes. Just gotta get your stories straight beforehand...

I say, our wonderful servicemen and women need to be allowed some "ring time" with these guys. I personally would pay-per-view to see our guys give them a thrashing within an inch of their lives. (Jesus forgive me, I know that's wrong, but...)

P.S. I dare say, our servicewomen could whomp some of them upside the head REAL GOOD TOO!!!

There's no reason to believe Limbacher to be the finest in his profession, one will often find duplications... What I like about him is his ability to find interesting topics for his readers.

Yes, lightning could strike at one end of those metal cages resulting in a chain reaction as it zapped through the entire compound or a nasty form of botulism might simultaneously find it's way into all of those cold snacks, or ...

Sorry, gotta stop fantasizing. Seriously, I don't think our government realizes how much the American people resent this coddling. These people have been brainwashed from the cradle, they will not be rehabilitated or any other touchy feely nonsense. They should all be dead. If the situation was reversed, our guys would be.

If you look, he didn't steal this article from Brit Hume, he stole it from the Miami Herald. Newsmax is very careful to place in their stories where they stole them from, so they can avoid being plagiarists, even though they refuse to link to the original articles, which is not very professional, and they steal the article wholesale, and then summarize it.

If so-called human rights groups are worried about prisoners in Cuba, why don't they pay a visit to Oscar Biscet or other prisoners in Castro's gulag.

...scream at, spit on and hurl water at the servicemen, who are "working nearly nonstop."...

Charlie Daniels was on "Hannity and Colmes" (Apr 2) He just got back from entertaining our troops at Gitmo. He was talking about how things went and said he wishes the media would tell the whole story about how the detainees throw buckets of urine and excrement on our soldiers. The media ignores it, only wanting to talk about how bad the prisoners treated.

Gee, wouldn't it be horrible if they took out that "inexplicable rage" on their smug detainees? Frag em'.
