No, this is awful!
I don't know where anything is anymore!
Where are the sidebars?
I used to go straight to them
to find out
what was going on.

Ask for it. You might get it. I suspect this new software is more option driven.

I like the new setup. It does need getting used to it, but if you play around with it you will find everything you want

This sucks....I'll find another website if I have to, but this is SLOW, and intolerable.!
NO Breaking News? No Front page news? Come on guys, pull your head out of your ass!
This is why hundreds, if not thousands of people visited your website everyday, to immediately, and instantly see the goings on in the world.
Bring back the Breaking news and Front Page sidebars. Get rid of the crap on the left, put it on top or bottom. I dont care, but get rid of this crap RIGHT now, or bring back the old FR website.

We may need another Fresno "Freep"
Target one second here ... it's a Jim Robinson.

My my my. I cannot recall ever seeing so much whining. Me included. Come on all. Buck up. Conservatives are not supposed to whine.
No moose has ever bitten anybody I have ever known personally.

I don't like the new format either. Some nice new
functionality, but hard to scan quickly for articles
I'm interested in.

"Ive been playing with beta the last few days and I would keep going back to the old way it was more efficient to use." Same here.
To: Kaslin
I agree, this new format is an improvement. Just some teething pains, and as with many improvements, sometimes tweaking is required, or even trade-offs.
Kinda like when we had to retrain ourselves to not reach for the crank handle when we wanted to roll up our electric car windows.
To: Kaslin
That's just it. I don't want to have to play around with it. My time is more valuable to me. Learning how to navigate sites everytime they change things wastes my time and encourages me to surf elsewhere.

Go to topics. Design your own sidebars by choosing 'subscribe'. Choose the topic you want at the top of your sidebar LAST.

"All of the printing (fonts) around the top and sides are outrageously small. I may need my magnifying glass pressed to the monitor."BunnySlippers, it won't help. I just got new glasses with more power and I still can't see the print.
John, Jim, isn't there anyway to make the print larger? Also is there a real good reason for changing the format? I thought when you were running the Beta Test site you were checking to see how many people would use the Beta site. I tried it out for a couple of days and then I avoided it like the plague. Changes are not always in a persons best interest. Other than the fact FreeRepublic was the best site around, the simplicity of it was very appealing and I miss that.

I must voice my opinion on the side of 'this is awful.' (although the flag graphic on the left is nice) That being said, this isn't my website, so I'll just have to get used to it.

Ask for it. You might get it. I suspect this new software is more option driven. I would cast my lot with you on that wager.
They took some shots today, hopefully they finally used that gift certificate I gave them for the Moonlight Bunny Ranch.

Go there and above the entry field is a bold maroon link that says:
Find User Click HereClick on that and it will open up a field to enter a FReeper's user name.
I recommend copying (highlight name and press ctrl+c) and then paste it (click on field, press ctrl+v) this way you won't accidentally misspell a name.

"Well, give it a few weeks and you'll (probably) find it's better." Don't count on it. If this keeps up people will go elsewhere.

I hate being stateless, but I hate that mess I saw this issue addressed on another thread, and if I understand it correctly, you can still be listed on your State Page without having the mess up at the top by going to your State Page, then clicking the "off" feature indicating that you do not wish to be notified when there are new messages. Good luck!

More cluttered doesn't equal improved. This reminds me of a few years ago when Fox News changed their web site to look prettier and more professional. After a few weeks, I stopped using a site that I used to surf every day.
