No, this is awful!
I don't know where anything is anymore!
Where are the sidebars?
I used to go straight to them
to find out
what was going on.
Here are the movies available to you:
Ishtar
Poilice Academy 3
Porky's, The End of our Careers 2
Oh, and there is a Bob Cousy highlight tape.
Hey! Maybe you're onto something! Sure hope so. I find that the latest posts page is so busy I don't even like looking at it, let alone actually scrolling far enough to check out the posts. It's WAY too distracting....and SLOW! I'm willing to give a lot of it a chance, but the left sidebar really needs to go! One of the things that is so appealing about this forum is that it is was plain and simple and it was very easy to read. Now it is very difficult to read.
Jeez! Now who coulda seen that coming?
I'd like to apologize to everyone for that flippant remark. I'm tired. I haven't slept yet. And I've spent God-knows how long trying to figure the new format out and get everything all set up (which I finally have).
Drew
I hate this new design!!
Welcome to the Hotel California!
Mirrors on the sidebar,
Lots of flags and spice,
And she said, "We are all just prisoners here,
Of this Beta device.
In the server chambers,
They gathered for their feat,
They stab it with their hyper-bytes
But they just can't kill the beast!
Last thing I remember,
I was running IE4,
I had to find the link back
To the place I was before,
"Relax," it said in Breaking,
We are programmed to receive.
You can log off any time you like,
but you can never leave!
Anyone, -- can you please explain this sidebar mania?
-- Why not have all the annoucements, controls, etc, at the top of a page, and allow the full width below for text/message or graphics? -- I don't 'get' it.
I concur with a Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
Top and bottom of each thread page.
Me, too!
Looks like hundreds of FReepers are saying the same thing (including myself)!!
I fully agree.

First National Review Online, now FR? Stop changing what works. Only Drudge gets it when it comes to superfluous bells and whistles.
1. Too much clutter. Simplicity works best for effective communication. This reeks of make-work for programmers showing off their HTML skills.
2. Having two side columns limits the amount of pertinent information in the middle for my perusal. I have to spend more time scrolling.
3. I come to this site to get a quick exposure to many stories. That exposure time is now longer. I can't just quickly scan the page as was possible yesterday.
4. Too much customization needed. If my computer loses the appropriate cookie or FR has a problem, I'll be forced to recustomize again.
PLEASE GO BACK TO THE OLD FORMAT
