The Official Bush Cave List
3-27-01 | Jhoffa_X

Posted on 03/27/2002 9:06:29 AM PST by Jhoffa_

Dubya knowingly signed an Unconstitutional bill today.

Since he seems determined to slap his base around like a crack whore whenever he takes a mind to, I propose an index to keep all this in perspective.

Please index UnConstitutional, UnConservative or moves Counter to his campaign platform with *Bush_Cave_List So we can keep an itemized list handy for 2004.

Then searching with keywords:

to: *Bush_Cave_List

In the search window will bring them all up.

Okay, but by that logic a conservative could never stand on principle. There is an election cycle every 2 years. If you can't take a principled conservative stand when you have an 80% approval rating then when can you stand up. As my advertising executive sister said, " Bush can't do anything to upset the press or they will destroy him." Well since the media is overwhelmingly liberal then conservatives must accept the fact that they will never see any of their political hopes fulfilled.

I think it is well past time to accept the fact that Bush is doing exactly what he wants to do. He is a moderate liberal who is most interested in his own re-election and nothing else. We all were taken in by his conservative tone in the last election. His handlers knew that a lot of people wanted an anti-Clinton candidate, and he gave us exactly what we wanted. Now he is going back to his true roots and governing accordingly. We wanted the Clintons out so bad we were easy targets. It is time we accepted the fact that George W. Bush is no more a conservative than his old man was. He will be a one-term president because he has lost his base. The Democrats will run their own moderate liberal candidate in 2004 and the people who Dub thinks he is playing to will flock back to their true home in the party.

"Taken as a whole, this bill improves the current system of financing for Federal campaigns, and therefore I have signed it into law."

There you have it.

No matter what, some will continue to support this President. Just like the one. Party and candidate before country.

Enough with the whining...

President Bush is NOT Pat Buchanan and he NEVER will be. He actually appreciates those of differing races and opinion.

BUMP. All of you Bush apologists who think he is politically expedient for adopting the Democrats' agenda are dead WRONG.

When you claim to believe in something, and do the opposite out of fear of being criticized by liars, you are a COWARD. When you fail to enact or implement policies you believe in and fail to use your political capital for justification and legitimization, you are INCOMPETENT!!!

Why did we even bother fighting McCain during the primaries?

We should've just voted for him....

you people need to get a grip. I guess you'd like Clinton back. good grief!

What is the difference between having a DemonRat Prez who violates your Constitutional rights and a Republican Prez who does the same?

I've voted straight party Republican in every election since I was old enough to vote, and how exactly have I benefited from it? Let's see.

There are more laws on the books violating my Constitutional rights today than there were 20 years ago. Gee, that's great.

I'm no longer allowed to purchase a high capacity handgun at the gun store down the street. In fact, that gun store closed long ago. The only place nearby where I can purchase a new firearm now is at Walmart. Boy, that's really great. Force the gun dealers out of business, that's a great way to keep people from buying guns until you can regulate them out of existense.

How many new tax laws are there? How many more ways has the government decided it can take your money away from you?

We now have asset forfeiture laws, something that didn't exist 25 years ago. You can have all of your assets seized, without even being charged with a crime. Good luck getting them back, regardless of your guilt or lack thereof. In fact, you may never be charged with a crime, but you assets can still be seized from you, and you will never see them again. (asset forfeiture laws were passed under a Republican watch)

My taxes have steadily increased at a rate higher than my paychecks have. Even though I make quite a bit more than I did when the first Bush was in office, my quality of life has actually decreased.

Three weeks ago, I was told my job was being eliminated, due to the poor economy. Bang up job you're doing there, George.

Today, my free speech rights were trampled into a mudhole, and the muddy footprints on the backs of every single American match the soles of George's shoes.

Tell me what the difference is, please. I'm quickly losing faith in the Republican Party and with our prez. The lines have blurred so much that I can no longer distinguish between the DemonRats and the Repubs. It seems that no matter which party is in office, the result is the same on the country. Everyone drop your trousers, bend over and grab your ankles. The more you resist, the more it's gonna hurt.

Did anybody actually think that he was going to reduce the size of the federal government or many other things. Even though Clinton tried as hard as he could, he couldn't even get half of what he wanted passed (thank God we didn't get stuck with Hillary's medi-socialism). Once people are in office, they are going to watch polls, play it safe, and try to be re-elected. If GW is going to do anything significant, it would happen in a second term. It doesn't matter what party, once in, your the 'incumbent' party and your going to try to stay that way.

Not bashing Bush, I voted for him three times, it's the nature of the beast that is politics.

Whatever a candidate promises, I expect them to do half that, not because they they don't want to, but because that is the way our system is setup and that is what the checks and balances are all about. I think Bush has done a good job, but he listens to a lot of people around him who didn't have to make campaign promises, and who have their own motives.

All you clowns who INSIST on bashing President Bush just need to go ahead and join the Constitution Party, have "Loser" stamped on your foreheads and get it over with.

Yep. At least wait to see if Republicans take the house and senate before trying to tear down any chance of moral victory.

Then you can complain all you want.

I also caved today. I sent in my resignation to the republican party. I refuse to be a member of any party that is going to blantantly refuse to follow the Constitution and who signs illegal bills, knowing full well that the bill is illegal. He caved, he wimped out, he ran. He is scared of the communist/socialist/democommies. Bush has no nerve. He wants to chum up with all of them and make friends with fat Teddy and the like and they stab him in the back. What a bafoon to believe the socialist want to be friends. He keeps caving and they keep getting 2/3rds of what they want each and every time. Bush is going to be a one term president. I voted for him and frankly am really pissed that he has not had enough backbone to stand in and fight. I will never vote for a socialist, but I will not vote for a law breaker, someone who cannot keep his oath of office. I guess I will join the Constitution party. Maybe we should form the Conservative Party and only true conservatives can join it.

>you people need to get a grip. I guess you'd like Clinton back. good grief!

Well, what did more to discredit the Left? The eight years prior to Klinton, or Klinton's eight years?

When that nut job was in office, everybody could see -- EVERY DAY -- how unprincipled and irrational all the left wing really were. They posture as they do now about being built on principles and logic and fair dealing and Klinton revealed them to be slavering hero-worshipping lap dogs, double-dealing, opportunistic freaks.

IF we're going to have to put up with garbage like the appeasement of the PLO and the signing of CFR (and God knows what's coming), THEN it would be nice if some jackass like Klinton were in office to take the blame. It's hard to see this with a "good guy" on watch...

(Not to mention all the above, it will be remembered that it was during Bush's term that Free Republic got all split up into multiple forums and, for all practical purposes, destroyed.)
