I know some people will think this is rather harsh. Well, over the period Bush has been President, I have observed certain policies that bother me. For the most part I've been rather reserved. This lampoon expresses my true feelings rather well. For those of you who don't like it, start writing a few letters to your President. If he continues in the direction he's headed, such lampoons are likely to appear more frequently.

Okay, this makes about the 200th time I've seen each of these. How many times are you going to roll them out?

I didnt think Id ever see this type of sentiment on FreeRepublic, but recently its becoming more prevelant. Unfortunately, I have to agree with you. I dont know if its a matter of Bush being a closet liberal, or if he thinks that he can somehow appeal to the left and get their votes in 2004 (or possibly both).
I am beginning to feel that Bush doesnt care about the issues that won my support. On other issues, he seems diametrically opposed to me. At this rate Im going to have some serious thinking to do before casting my ballot.

That was probably a pretty caustic response on my part, but your post of the spray paint seemed to say that anyone critical of Bush was only going to have their comments blow back in their face. I happen to feel that there are a number of bonified reasons to take Bush to task. As a conservative I have nothing to gain by trashing a true conservative, and gain no pleasure from feeling like I need to criticize Bush even though I didn't vote for him. I would be more than happy to congratulate Bush when he does things right, and have done so.
To: Owl_Eagle
I didn't vote for Bush, but I do hope that he'll do good things anyway. I'd rather be wrong than have my concerns confirmed. That being said, I do believe that as a conservative I have an obligation to be as critical of my people when they do wrong, as I would a leftist when they do wrong. I think a good many of us are going to have to think long and hard in 2004.

D1, I certainly support your right to criticise, and even lampoon. I backed this guy from the start, with reservations- and while I generally find his foreign policy fine, the domestic stuff leaves me muttering,
"Well, with Gore, it could have been worse...."

I am beginning to feel that Bush doesn?t care about the issues that won my support. Isn't it dumb? It's the exact same mistake his old man made.

Sorry about the link problem. If you'll click on stop, then click on the photo that won't load, I have it linked to a larger version. Everything worked fine when I first published this. When I went back to place a smaller version on my web site, the site suffered some kind of a malfunction. I'll repair it ASAP. In the meantime the smaller version does not exist and I can't access my site. Grrrr...
To: DoughtyOne
Gee, you can't get it to post and you can't access your web site? Maybe there is a message in there somewhere...
To: Miss Marple
There is.
I have installed two different programs on my system. One of them is a controller for my new Campaq Ipaq. The other is a firewall. These may have hindered my ability to publish. My web host is checking the integrity of my server right now.
Unfortunately, the message I'm hearing from you is that it's great if people cannot address issues if they don't agree with our President. Is that the message you were attempting to convey?
To: DoughtyOne
Well Bush is preparing the country for war. What may well be a BIG war where many of our sons and daughters along with fellow citizens die. So go ahead and take shots at him for not being the perfect "conservative". There are many things he does that concern me but there is a much bigger picture and a lot at stake.
It is one thing to criticize it is another to reticule.
So whom did you vote for that was the perfect conservative?

Well, I hadn't seen those cartoons, and I think they are great!
To: DB
What would you suggest? Shoud I refrain from addressing any issues until the war against terrorism is over? If that's your criterea I'll never be able to address a single difference with him again. That would mean that we should just disband Congress, recess the Supreme Court and let Bush reign supreme. Is that what you desire?
To: DoughtyOne
Feel free to criticize President Bush, a man you didn't vote for anyway. I am certain President Buchanan would have gotten all your wishes granted, and its sure a shame he didn't get a larger portion of the vote.
Other than that, I just was enjoying a little schadenfreude.

Thanks for the comment. While I have seen them posted all over the forum, I'm sure there are some who haven't.
