Ian McKellan upset...they're really dissing LOTR. I don't like Ian and I don't think he deserved the oscar, but his costumes and makeup did.
And you're right...that black beaded dress was stunning!

I think that was until he hosted Saturday Night Live and made jokes about being gay... even flaunting the fact that he was and then making fun of it! As far as the Academy is concerned, homosexuality is too important to joke about.

The Tim McGraw commercial was pretty funny - but where was Faith?
To: Timeout
I don't like Ian either, BUT he IS Gandalf. I can't imagine anyone else in that role.
To: majordivit
No, in the original Pink Panther movie, the Pink Panther (played by David Niven) was quite the ladies' man pursuing both Madame Clouseau and the Indian Princess Dala.
To: Hillary's Lovely Legs
i wonder who designed it. so far the best gowns have been worn by..reese witherspoon, halle berry, and marcia gay harden.
To: nhoward14
Oh, really? Too bad. I thought he did the best job of capturing a character I had seen. He really was Gandalf, exactly as I have always pictured him.
To: ValerieUSA
I love seeing the "Big" names lose, some nobody grabs the award as Will and Jon wipe their tears! Bravo!
To: TexasNative2000
I think Faith has become a spokesmodel for Baskin Robbins.

I am praying that Mel Brooks gets well enough to make an LOTR parody movie... I'd love to see Mel playing some form of Gandalf.

in case you guys missed it..this rivals sally kirkland

If this crowd represented real Americans they would have been on their feet yelling "USA! USA!", when American soldiers were mentioned. Instead they sit and politely clap. Yet they're able to stand for Woody Allen? Give me a break. Jerks.

Broadbent for Iris? Gimme a break! Stagnant, boring literatti dependent husband to a Commie writer signifying nothing. It should have been Kingsley in Sexy Beast.
To: RummyChick
Hey, that photo needs to come with some sort of warning like "freak show alert".
To: RummyChick
Oh nooooooooo! That picture was hideous. It was straight out of a STAR WARS bar scene.
To: theophilusscribe
In all fairness, the voting was probably done before he hosted the show, but still I was quite shocked that I was given permission to laugh at gayness by a gay person.
To: Hillary's Lovely Legs
I loved Marcia's gown. She was smashing last year too. She wore a very glamourous strapless gown.
