To: mel
I think she won Miss Ohio and was in the Miss America competition. It was a pretty big title. I am sorry she didn't win Miss America. Oppression!!!!!

If both of Halle's parents were black, she wouldn't be so beautiful.Your comment is very insulting, ignorant and inaccurate. There are more beautiful women than her who have two Black parents.
I might as well make you madder by saying that as a Black woman I am very proud of Halle and always have been. I have two Black parents and she has one, but I consider her no less Black than I am.
It's too bad that the historical significance of Halle's win is lost on so many of you on this thread but I guess you don't like being reminded that race sometimes matters.

To: TexasNative2000
Loquishish??? Lord is she stupid. She can't even pronounce the word correctly.
To: Ganymede
funny... If I told a group of NAACP protesters to "Get over it..." I would be murdered in the street by them and nobody would be on TV claiming MY civil rights were violated...
To: Hillary's Lovely Legs
Roger on that. It's just that the whole idea of celebrating Hollywood is so....creepy.
To: Hillary's Lovely Legs
No, her father came back for a year while she was growing up and made the family miserable, before he left again or was thrown out.

Russell Crowe will win.
To: ozaukeemom
Dear God, will this show never end???
To: mafree
Halle's particular brand of beauty is no more black than it is white. Get it? It's a very individual beauty - not racial.
To: denydenydeny
Um, I like Halle Berry. I don't like that she dragged race into her win.
To: mel
re:Dec31,1999- there's a time & place for everything. This ain't either, IMHO.
To: jhofmann
I was wondering the same thing!
To: rintense
I pray you are wrong.
Halle Berry was certainly hot in "X-Men." Nothing she's done since has stirred my pot though.
To: Dec31,1999
Who says that we're celebrating? I thought that this was a mock fest? Silly me...
